Principal Product Owner

ADP employs several thousand developers in service of hundreds of products and components. The OneCICD team has been tasked with developing enterprise wide solutions for CICD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) that will better scale development, increase consistency, increase agility, and improve customer satisfaction. The OneCICD team will work across ADP development teams treating them as our customer. OneCICD is successful when ADP development teams are successful. The OneCICD platform includes tools in support of CICD as well as an initiative to construct an ADP wide developer portal. This portal will serve as the single-pane-of-glass for ADP developers to aid in their job, find available capabilities, inner-source their own work, and provide access and documentation to the applications needed to most efficiently develop within ADP.

The Technical Principal Product Owner role is responsible for developing vision, strategy and roadmap for OneCICD platform including Developer Portal, balancing enterprise needs and BU requirements. Interface between the OneCICD team, front-line users and senior stakeholders to communicate strategy, gather feedback, and build alignment across ADP. Drive day-to-day development and delivery of OneCICD platform and services in collaboration with technical architect and team members. Facilitate and contribute to discussions on the full CICD stack, including developing perspectives and recommendations on specific technologies and tools.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Develop vision, strategy and roadmap for OneCICD platform, balancing enterprise needs and BU requirements. Interface between the OneCICD team, front-line users and senior stakeholders to communicate strategy, gather feedback, and build alignment across ADP. Drive day-to-day development and delivery of OneCICD platform and services in collaboration with technical architect and team members. Facilitate and contribute to discussions on the full CICD stack, including developing perspectives and recommendations on specific technologies and tools

Drive overall product strategy

Own the end-to-end OneCICD platform strategy from OKRs definition to new service design and value capture

Co-create OneCICD roadmap with BU leaders; pulling in expertise on architecture, platforms, and security

Build, maintain, and prioritize backlog of product features, i.e., write user stories and acceptance criteria

Effectively engage R&D teams and stakeholders on product roadmap and adoption

Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate the story effectively to senior stakeholders

Proactively align BU leaders, technical stakeholders and R&D teams on product roadmap

Drive adoption of new services throughout the organization and gather feedback on adopted services

Drive day-to-day technical development and delivery

Drive sprint and release plans together with Scrum Master

Define and track adoption, performance and impact metrics

Manage full lifecycle of OneCICD services (e.g., maintenance, new versions, rollout etc.)

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED (10+ years):
  • Business and Domain Knowledge:
    • CICD domain expertise, including technology trends and familiarity with cloud and traditional infrastructure (e.g., containers, CICD, infra-as-code, etc.)
    • Experience in driving business outcomes (e.g., value delivery, value assurance)
    • Extensive experience in both engineering and leadership roles in agile settings (e.g., building and managing product backlogs)
    • Proven track record of leading high performing enterprise oriented teams
  • Individual Skills:
    • Able to clearly articulate complex ideas and craft compelling stories to effectively engage stakeholders across levels of seniority
    • Able to make hard and fast decisions on a daily basis and lead the team to push the solution and make progress
    • Able to build relationships with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Mindset and Behaviors:
    • Challenges status quo to find new solutions and drives out of the box ideas -- loves and embraces change
    • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency and trust across the team
    • Not afraid to 'roll up the sleeves' and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn -- pushes the team to do the same

(5+ years)
  • Technical understanding of Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker
  • Background in API design for usability and consistency
  • Experience with AWS
  • Knowledge of development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Maven, NPM, Sonarqube, CICD pipelines
