What you'll do

As a Sales Specialist you will join a highly hardworking and result oriented Data Center Sales Team to sell Cisco Data Center products and solutions. As a Product Sales Specialist for a Data Center switching you will take a leadership role as the technical sales specialist driving Data Center switching and solution sales for multiple verticals and market segments throughout Japan. In this capacity you will collaborate with the global, APJ regional teams as well as work closely with the Japan Cisco sales and partner teams. You will also be responsible for the GTM for Ciscos Data Center networking portfolio across the Japan region.

You will understand, articulate and position both internally and externally Cisco's end-to-end Data Center Architecture, including Unified Computing Systems, Data center Switching and SDN, Data center Software and Multi-Cloud Solutions.

You will develop and cultivate strong relationships with key Data Center decision makers in the market and partner contacts, including ecosystem partners.

As a Product Sales Specialist, you will also be responsible for forecast accuracy related to Data Center opportunities within the assigned territory. You will define, together, with the account team, the bidding structure and the intelligence needed around our Data Center solutions to provide a winning proposal.

Mentoring Account Managers and Regional Managers to make them more effective in selling Data Center solutions will also be part of your job.

  • Be an integral part of the strategy planning process, ensure close interaction and collaboration with Worldwide partners, Regional Data Center leads, and Account teams on all aspects of growing the DC Switching business in JAPAN.
  • Define sales strategy, plan, develop, and handle the landscape for the Cisco DC Switching portfolio, while executing Cisco's strategy and meeting Cisco's financial targets. Products & Solutions include Cisco Compute, Networking and Cloud Management / Orchestration software & Analytics
  • Collaborate and build partnerships within Cisco as well as externally with partners to drive the agreed commercial strategy, have regular dialogue with local and regional teams to ensure consensus with the go to market and sales strategy overall.
  • Drive a specific focus with key Systems Integrators to ensure a Cisco preference as they build out their Data center stack/solutions including partner development & enablement, as well as anticipate new types of partners required to build future pipeline.
  • Operate as part of an overall team accountable for complete strategy, executing in conjunction with other sales specialists and account team members

Who youll work with

This high profile sales role will require a hunter type individual to work alongside account teams, partners and business units to drive revenue from new & existing Enterprise customers across the Japan region. This role covers a range of verticals, several of which are narrowly focused for strategic accounts. We are looking for a confident leader with a validated ability to define strategic and bold strategies and go to market plans within large Enterprise customers.

You will play a critical role in enabling Cisco to bring new products to market in both core and adjacent markets. You will be responsible for accurate forecasting of sales activity, exceeding revenue targets, and teaming within a matrixed organization to navigate complex sales cycles. Who you are

  • + years of NW solutions experience in an IT sales organization that includes selling products such as  Networking products, Cloud technologies, DC Software etc.
  • In depth understanding of DC Trends and evolution
  • Strong understanding of Data Center market trends and challenges
  • Deep understanding of key Cisco competitors in the Data Center and Cloud environment
  • Work experience in teams to achieve both individual and group success
  • Experience in working across the Japan market

Business insight

  • Develops an insightful view of the overall business landscape, including Partner and Customer business drivers.
  • Possesses deep understanding in complex technical sales engagements, partner profitability models at the country level and take action accordingly to ensure mutual success.

Financial acumen

  • Understands how to evaluate, interpret, and incorporate financial data in daily decisions to understand the organizations financial goals and focus the efforts in solving complex customer and partner needs.

Executive communication and negotiation skills

  • Established experience in creating and maintaining executive level relationships at customers, partners and within Cisco.
  • Ability to negotiate large and complex deals
  • Ability to present in customer/partner events

Operationalizing strategy

  • Experience building actionable long and short-term account plans based on a deep understanding of the impacts of business and technology trends.
  • Ability to build and pitch programs for funding, as well as execution and governance for scale and repeatability across Indonesia.

Building capability

  • Expert at identifying and being accountable for the appropriate resources (internal and external) required to develop and execute major solution strategic initiatives.
  • Working across Boundaries - Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple business units, partners and solution teams in complex business engagements to use multiple IT domains in creating vertical/segment specific solutions for our customers
  • Strategic Vision - Develops short and long-term strategy for commercial model within the country.
