Responsibilities – In our hybrid work model, you will be working in one of Orrick's U.S. offices with our professional support departments such as Finance, Innovation, Lawyer Development, Marketing, Research, etc.  Each practice group or department is unique but most teams are working in the office around 2-3 days a week, as business needs allow and at the discretion of the team.

  • After completing a full week of training, you will begin working directly with your teams on projects and assignments that are used every day by our attorneys and leadership to make Orrick successful. 
  • You will participate in organized events and work with an assigned attorney mentor during feedback and shadowing sessions.
  • You will look for ways to streamline processes and procedures, identify new and expanded uses for existing technologies and contribute to our environment of innovation.
  • In addition, you will, attend department meetings and set up informational conversations to gain added insights in and out of the assigned department(s).
  • Additional opportunities including optional training and social events will be available throughout your internship.

  • Must currently be enrolled in an accredited 4-year undergraduate program and be either a 2023 junior or senior to apply
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered
  • Possess an enthusiastic approach to client service, and strong organization/time management skills
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Strong verbal and communications skills
  • Familiarity with the MS suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Flexibility working with various teams
  • Research and proofreading ability
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a flexible and collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work.

The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, relevant experience, primary work location, market data, and internal equity.  Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.  

This is a short-term, temporary position.   Our temporary team members are eligible for paid sick leave where required by location.
