**ROLE SUMMARY**

The position has accountability and responsibility for some or all of the following:



+ Project management services for capital and non-capital projects at the Sanford site

+ Performing engineering studies and evaluations

+ Capital program management utilizing CPM (Capital Portfolio Management)

+ Engineering change management

+ Engineering input into problem solving

+ Continuous improvement activities

+ Interacting with regulatory authorities during audits



At a minimum, the position must be able to execute work independently, work with various groups across the organization and be able to oversee and lead projects to ensure that cGMP/GLP equipment, facilities and utilities perform as intended.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

Responsibilities include the following:

Provide project management leadership for capital and non-capital projects, including:



+ Development of project scope and drafting funding request

+ Development of project budget and control of spending

+ Development of project schedule and coordination with other site activities

+ Management of procurement and construction activities

+ Coordination of qualification/verification activities

+ Supervision and direction of contractors and colleagues performing this work



Perform engineering evaluations to determine feasibility of potential future projects Maintain Site Capital program and support site master planning Support regulatory audits through the preparation, defense and interaction with auditors in areas related to equipment, instrumentation, facilities and utilities Provide expertise for trouble-shooting and resolution of issues related to equipment, instrumentation, facilities and utilities Assess potential impact of changes to qualified systems Identify and implement project management best practices for continuous improvement Represent engineering on site or network teams as necessary

The position requires execution and management of multiple projects at the same time and good communication skills to keep customers, peers, and area management up-to-date with progress of all activities in order to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and on schedule.



**QUALIFICATIONS**

A minimum of a BS degree + 10 years of experience; MS + 7 years of experience in any of the following disciplines: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent science related or engineering discipline.

Direct knowledge and experience in project management within a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical cGMP environment is required. Experience with FDA and EU licensing and inspection is preferred. Familiarity with manufacturing and/or utilities equipment and operations is beneficial.

**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**

Position requirements are typical for an office-based work environment with some shop floor exposure. There are no unusual physical or mental requirements for this position.



**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Schedule is primarily day shift (M-F, 8 hrs) but may require off-shift work, weekend work or extended work hours to meet project deadlines on occasion. The position may require working at job sites in manufacturing or utility areas at times which will require a focus on safety. Aseptic gowning could be required. Travel to support Factory Acceptance Testing or vendor evaluations will be necessary for larger projects.
