Position Description

The Provost provides leadership in long-range planning, budgeting, curriculum development, and compliance in collaboration with the Institution's Leadership Team. The ACHS Provost is a collaborative, strategic, and inclusive academic leader with a core mission to engage with faculty, students, staff, alumni, and industry partners. Working with faculty and staff teams committed to a culture of excellence in integrative health and sustainable business education, the Provost works to expand and sustain diversity and inclusive excellence across the institution's academic and administrative departments.

The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer and provides leadership to all academic areas of the institution. The Provost is an advocate for academic programs and provides leadership to faculty and academic staff to ensure consistent quality standards in curriculum and innovation and development of programs that meet the needs of students and align with the institution's mission and vision.

  • Provide leadership for all academic programs and work with ACHS Program Chairs to facilitate innovative program development in alignment with the ACHS mission, vision, and leading industry trends.
  • Assure compliance with all state, accreditation, and federal regulatory requirements across the institution in coordination with institutional staff.
  • Ensure systematic review of programs and courses to ensure quality and current course content in coordination with Program Chairs.
  • Provide leadership in matters of academic policy and administration and regularly advise the President on these matters.
  • Coordinate and provide leadership to Strategic Planning Committee and for the strategic planning process.
  • Coordinate with the Dean of Faculty and Program Chairs to approve the hiring, support, development, and evaluation of faculty, staff, and administrators of instructional programs and services.
  • Coordinate with the Dean of Faculty and Program Chairs to approve the assigning of courses and non-instructional assignments to full and part-time faculty.
  • Encourage and support research, grant-writing, publishing and other scholarly activities of the faculty in coordination with the Dean of Faculty.
  • Work with the Executive Team and Department Managers to plan, develop and implement the annual budget for the institution.
  • Coordinate accreditation efforts and the preparation of reports to various accrediting agencies.
  • Coordinate with the Dean of Faculty, Program Chairs, Dean of Students, and Dean of Admissions in the preparation of the class schedule each semester; approve the final class schedule.
  • Oversee culture of professional development across the institution.
  • Serve as Chair for the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Technology, and Assessment
  • Serve on Executive Leadership Committee and as ex-officio member of administratively appointed academic committees.
  • Perform other duties in coordination with the President.

  • Chief Information Officer
  • Dean of Faculty
  • Dean of Students
  • Registrar

Work Environment

This position operates within business professional environments. This may be on-campus or in a remote office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; position requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching.
