Accurately delivers prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist using a variety of complex techniques and equipment. Shares and coordinates key information, through electronic documentation (EMR system) and oral communication, with other members of the healthcare team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned Implements treatment prescription and treatment plan as directed by the Radiation Oncologist
  • ""
  • Reviews EMR system (i.e., ARIA) for correct patient identification, prescription, treatment parameters, and treatment plan before commencing patient treatment
  • ""
  • Prepares equipment such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices, and positions patient according to the prescription and plan of treatment
  • ""
  • Performs daily radiation therapy treatments following center policies and procedures
  • ""
  • Performs CT simulations consistent with policies and procedures
  • ""
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed or board eligible with the ARRT and the State of Texas
  • ""
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Radiation Therapy or Certificate in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
  • ""
  • BLS / CPR within 30 days of hire
  • ""
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctors diagnosis of disease
  • ""
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
  • ""
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
