The Regional Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the offices and direct reports in their assigned area by leveraging culture and business acumen to align management, relationships and communication to achieve goals. The Regional Director is fully proficient in skill level and their scope should be 10 or more providers.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Management Activities:
    • Establishes priorities for areas of responsibility in relation to all facets of the business. Communicates the priorities to practice management; modifies priorities as needed
    • Participates in the development and implementation of short and long-range strategic plans
    • Maintains responsibility for overall regional financial performance of all assigned offices and providers
    • Assists as needed to ensure the overall "health" of each office/practice thru effective management practices for all areas such as budget planning and adherence, marketing and communication priorities, compliance, implementations and timely completion of priorities
    • Reviews contracts for area of responsibility and authorizes; reviews contracts to ensure compliance
    • Stays abreast of patient satisfaction trends and communicates results as needed
    • Assists practice/office manager as needed to create plans to improve scores
    • Evaluates talent of those in reporting structure, with or without practice/office manager. Develops or assists in the development of plans to develop talent, depending on current and future business needs
    • Ensures offices/practices have resources to accomplish clinical quality goals; monitors to ensure completion
  • Culture / Relationships
    • Supports and motivates direct reports to accomplish both their individual professional and practice / office goals
    • Cultivates and maintains professional relationship with providers; acts as "voice" of physicians
    • Models and encourages professional behavior which reinforces culture
    • Supports and participates engagement activities which reinforce culture
    • Champions change management techniques through all activities as needed
    • Models and encourages direct reports to respond appropriately to changes in order for maximum effectiveness
    • Travels to assigned location/s as needed to assist with duties and achievement of goals
    • Escalates issues as needed
  • Communication
    • Attends Care Council Meetings and disseminates information to direct reports as needed
    • Communicates business objectives including: vision, priorities, goals, new initiatives and action plans
  • Implementation
    • Implements, supports, participates and ensures compliance of assigned offices/providers in relation to all current and future initiatives, such as LEAD, and changes to current initiatives, such as clinical quality
  • Maintenance
    • Acts as a regulatory compliance liaison for any compliance issues. May need to defer to another department, depending on compliance issues
    • Monitors policy compliance for assigned offices/providers

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of surgical practice management experience (Orthopedic surgery preferred; however other surgical specialties may be considered.)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time. Overnight travel may be required on occasion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration

  • 5+ years of experience of Orthopedic surgery practice management

  • Experience managing multiple surgical sites

  • Provider recruitment experience

  • Proficient with EHR/EMR software

  • Experience starting and staffing new medical practice locations

  • Business Development experience within the healthcare industry
