The Global Industry Solutions Group (ISG) is looking for a high-energy, experienced Sales Business Development Manager (SBDM) who can help Cisco Healthcare and Education teams within Germany to drive targeted business outcomes by leveraging industry knowledge and relationships with non-IT decision makers and business influencers.  This SBDM will identify customer business imperatives and strategies, define how Cisco and partners can get relevant by delivering business value and collaborate with the Account Teams. What will you do:

Reporting to ISGs Global Director of Education and Healthcare, the SBDMs primary objective is to jointly build deep relationships with Cisco existing and new stakeholders and customers at the highest level of decision maker. Your engagement is key to initiate, accelerate and drive the strategic growth initiatives of Cisco Germany, leading to concrete business opportunities and results. You will identify areas of greatest opportunity, develop strategies to target and develop relationships with top accounts and participate in Education and Healthcare CXCs to build relevance for Cisco in these industries.  This individual will be a part of the Global Education and Healthcare ISG Team and will liaise with the Global ISG BDMs to ensure alignment with our Global Strategy for the verticals, including major strategic accounts/lighthouses, key use themes and use cases, enablement, and GTM orchestration. You are enthusiastic about working in an environment where it is important to understand decision makers, interests and networks. You want to facilitate far-reaching changes through technology and digitization by means of intelligent, valuable concepts, show ways of implementation, set up coalitions and teams and inspire enthusiasm for shaping our future. You understand chances and challenges of digitalization, market dynamics and impact to industries, companies, the society and citizens.

Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with Global ISG and in-country leadership team to prioritize areas and customers with greatest opportunity

  • Support the German Cisco Public leadership team in positioning and networking with key decision makers by developing strategies to demonstrate the value of our growth initiatives, products and services

  • Together with the German Cisco Strategy and Partner team identify & qualify opportunities, create and close deals, and achieve product and services pipeline and bookings targets

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships at the executive/business decision maker level with relevance to the defined growth Opportunities in Healthcare and Education, such as large health or education authorities, decision makers at state level, stakeholders who influence strategic decisions etc.

  • You will be the trusted advisor for key, defined decision makers and represent Cisco and its values. Your personal appearance and behavior clearly show that you represent a trustworthy, reliable and absolutely honest company with full commitment to Germany.

  • Develop and present compelling business cases to customers, maintain expert-level knowledge of all elements of the business case, including the drivers of cost, benefit, and risk

  • Create an account strategy focused on key customer requirements, desired business outcomes, alignment with Education and Healthcare use cases, and an execution plan to be aligned with German Cisco Public leadership team

  • Comply with Cisco reporting of quarterly and annual key account engagement activities

  • Manage multiple pipeline opportunities and prioritize based on Ciscos ISG Education and Healthcare strategy

  • Engage, advise and mentor sales teams on industry business imperatives and business value based consultative selling approaches

  • Effectively represent Cisco as a spokesperson in external engagements, events, industry bodies and other external fora



Who you are:


Minimum qualifications:

  • You have 10+ years relevant experience in a senior management role with proven responsibility and results for transformation/digitization initiatives with high impact

  • You have a deep understanding and knowledge of the public sector, focus: healthcare, education and ideally local government. Preferred by several years of work in this segment. Strong book of highly visible contacts, specifically with C-Level and senior executive leaders.

  • Expertise in leading consultative selling approach and establishing credibility as trusted advisor by executives, and industry personnel

  • Proven ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision (both written and verbal) and influence cross-functionally.

  • High degree of judgment and awareness in working with a large number of stakeholders with differing needs, working independently and often in ambiguous environments

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate in a dynamic cross-functional organization and influence other teams in executing strategic objectives

  • Sales and/or sales management experience for a technology provider, integrator or enterprise IT delivery organization

  • Ability to create and communicate a compelling vision to senior executives, with capability to leverage logic, experience, facts, data, and passion to influence others

  • Strong communication and listening skills, a thorough approach to complex problem solving, managing to metrics and KSOs

  • Understanding of competitive products, emerging technologies, and applicability to customer environments

  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and German
