Regional Therapeutic Area Lead, Rare Disease

Accountable for Pfizer's Rare Disease (RD) portfolio in China. Leads a team of marketers (as well as cross-functional partners) to develop and implement marketing/business strategies/platforms for Rare Disease portfolio to achieve financial and strategic targets. **Senior Director, Regional Therapeutic Area Lead - Rare Disease, China**



Accountable for the $15M (growing at 70%) Rare Disease Therapeutic Area in China, leads a team of 3+ country marketers (as well as cross-functional partners) to develop and implement marketing/business strategies/platforms for the Therapeutic Area (supporting a growing inline portfolio and preparing the region for 2 product launches in the OP period); Use customer insights to prioritize/direct content creation to achieve financial targets.


**Core Activities:**

+ Accountable of the therapeutic area performance at the regional level. Secondary P&L accountability for the therapeutic area.

+ Leads 3+ Country Brand Leads (CBLs) to develop and execute asset specific strategies; Leads cross-functional team to develop holistic business strategies and generate rapid uptake

+ Sets country-wide vision and direction for the therapeutic area (objectives, strategies, tactics, customers, field force, etc.),

+ Manages the products lifecycle from launch (asset and indications) to peri-LOE.

+ Proactively works with CBLs, Category Leads and the Country Lead to identify potential issues to budget delivery and initiates action plans mitigating any issues

+ Liaise with Global Team to deliver and align business priorities.

+ Proactively recommends Buy-Up opportunities to boost growth

+ Drives innovation and Dare to Try projects in a highly competitive market

+ Develops detailed tactical implementation plan to prepare for execution and tailors as appropriate for relevant market(s); aligns with other EM regions to leverage best practices

+ Obtains external and internal insights to inform strategy, messaging, tactics; gathers thorough competitive intelligence; generates market research requests and helps compile market feedback from CBLs

+ Plans/forecasts, spends, and tracks brand budgets at country level

+ Tracks revenue performance and relevant launch uptake metrics; designs interventions to mitigate risks or leverage opportunities through business cases all-year-round (incl. P&Ls)

+ Develops and executes regional POA and oversees CBLs' training of Field Force (local POA) or product and market training

+ Proactively and cost-effectively streamlines promotional efforts; seeks opportunities to more effectively execute marketing activities to free CBLs time to focus on customers-facing

+ Establishes cross-functional teams where appropriate and interface with regional and country stakeholders through effective matrix management

+ Identifies, develops and manages effective relationships with customers, which have regional reach, and ensures that Pfizer is positioned as a leading, innovative and ethical provider of health care solutions

**Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:**

+ Upsides/risks assessment including business cases (with P&Ls)

+ Functional and cross-functional objectives and metrics alignment and follow-up

+ 3-Year Strategy Plan

+ Brand Plans:

+ Strategies derived from customer and competitive insights

+ Detailed tactical planning, prepare execution; country tactical planning with A&P budgets

+ Campaign development/messaging, aligned with other EM PIH regions; material production (including digital/multi-channel marketing)

+ Promo meetings: E.g. speaker bureau curricula

+ (Non) Promo meetings: logistics, attendee approval

+ Op Plan: Country targets, resource allocation, trade-off decisions, LRF

+ Regional and local POAs

+ People Management: Recruit, train, lead, develop, mentor, and retain skilled colleagues to ensure the realization of objectives

+ Reports to the Emerging Markets Group Lead

+ Works in close collaboration with Category and County Lead, Brand Implementation Leads, Global Team and cross-functional partners


**Financial Accountability**

+ $15M **Supervision**

+ Direct management of a team of 3 Country Brand Leads. The team is expected to grow in 2019 and 2020 to support multiple product launches.


+ Bachelor degree required, MBA is preferred

+ 10 years+ of diverse commercial experience
