Sodexo is seeking an experienced Clothing Retail Manager for the Baylor School located in Chattanooga, Tennessee.


Baylor School, commonly called Baylor, is a private, coeducational prep school on the outskirts of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Founded in 1893, the school currently enrolls students in grades 6-12, including boarding students in grades 9-12. These students are served by Baylor's 148 members of faculty, over two-thirds of whom hold advanced degrees, including nearly 40 adults who live on campus and serve as dorm parents. Baylor has had a student win the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement in math and science and a teacher receive the National Siemens Award for Exemplary Teaching. The school is also an athletic powerhouse, having the best high school sports program in Tennessee and in the top 25 nationwide. In the past 22 years, Baylor has won a remarkable 157 state championships.


This Retail Manager position will oversee a school spirit bookstore, mail-room and concessions.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control.
  • Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales.
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry.
  • Ensuring standards for quality and customer service are met.
  • Coordinating cadet uniform ordering and distribution process.
  • Coordinating textbook orders with faculty and associate deans.

The ideal candidate will have


  • College/University bookstore management or supervisory experience, including merchandising and marketing or other retail store management background.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including negotiating skills, strong customer and client relationship skills
  • Experience driving sales and controlling costs in a retail store environment.
  • Experience training and leading staff, managing multiple tasks with creativity and a variety of service styles is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills managing multiple vendors, ordering/inventory/returns, scheduling, marketing.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly & supervisory food service workers.Key Duties- Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.- Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.- Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.- Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery. - Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers.   



Qualifications & Requirements
