Description

 

The Retail manager will report any necessary changes and initiative to the Residential District Manager while adhering to the strict guidelines as outlined by Aramark policies and procedures. He/ She is responsible for Planning, organizing, and directing of all aspects of the retail operations on campus

 

The Retail Manger is responsible for working with the Retail supervisors on a day to day operations and providing leadership to a team of food service associates within multiple franchised units. Operations may vary in size and scope on the client population and requirements 

 

Responsible for the operational and financial performance of all retail locations

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, engage and develop teams to maximize their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance.
  • Complete succession planning for area of responsibility and identify candidates for promotion
  • Ensure food services appropriately connects to the Executional Framework.
  • Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how to execute. Reward and recognize employees.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
  • Ensure all marketing & Health and wellness, Sustainability initiatives are fully executed, and success rates measured

Financial Performance: 

  • Adopt Aramark process and systems.
  • Develops operational component forecasts each period and is able to explain variance in sales, costs and operational activities
  • Build revenue and manage budget, including cost controls regarding food, beverage and labour for assign locations.
  • Achieve food and labor targets. Manage resources to ensure quality and cost control within budgetary guidelines.
  • Train and develop management team to be able to execute on financial targets.
  • Assist General manager in developing annual budgets for business.
  • Ensure General Manager receives all required financial reports on time and in the required format.
  • Cash Reconciliation including over/ short tracking and employee coaching re: cash handling
  • Change Till Reconciliation (Daily)
  • Assisting Chef and locations leads on a weekly basis with inventory
  • Maintain accurate records for all transactions including sales , petty cash and all account receivable

Productivity:

  • Implement and maintain Aramark agenda for both labour and food initiatives.
  • Create value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls and profit management.
  • Full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals, including food and labour.
  • Direct and oversee operations related to production, distribution and food service.
  • Provide direct and indirect leadership and motivation to improve job performance, satisfaction and performance in conjunction with the general manager and senior management team
  • Complete succession planning for area of responsibility and identify candidates for promotion

Compliance: 

  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees.
  • Comply with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour.
  • Motivate and encourage the staff daily. Work with HR department to implement Aramark \u201cEncore Encore \u201cprogram.
  • Responsible for making sure the daily operations of the components are running smoothly with the understanding that there will be times when you will have to \u201cjump in\u201d and work withing the component.
  • Collect, records and deposit all revenue received at the retail units and maintain adequate floats levels

 

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced food service environment managing multiple units
  • Customer service desire to provide exceptional customer service and build relationships
  • Knowledge of computerized spreadsheet and word processing programs
  • Problem solver ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills team player, eager to learn, leadership skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and willingness to grow
  • Adaptability and availability can work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills, thrives in multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment
