Sodexo is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to join our food service team at Phoenix Children's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Phoenix Children's Hospital is a 450-bed pediatric hospital committed to providing quality care and excellent service. This account has a fast paced, high volume food service department, generating over $6m in Retail sales annually, and focused on achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be directing and participating in all of daily operations for their full-service Cafe, Starbucks Coffee Shop, Starbucks Coffee Cart and Catering Services. 


Responsibilities will include:  cash handling/management, marketing/signage, scheduling, inventory/ordering, training and development of staff, direct customer interaction, and supervision of up to 50 hourly associates, 2 managers and 3 supervisors, and lead hourly employees.  Also, the position will be responsible for overseeing other areas of operations.  Hours for the position are Monday through Friday 7:00-4:00 with rotating weekends as well as some holidays. This location is a showcase account with a state of the art kitchen and retail dining facility and full At Your Request room service Health Touch operation, and catering services.  The cuisine in the Cafe is very high end and resort level fare.


The successful candidate will possess at least 3 years food management experience with a focus on retail operations, a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.

  • On-site marketing
  • Cash handling process
  • Customer service
  • Food production 
  • Manage HACCP and safety programs for regulatory compliance
  • Frontline training programs
  • Compliance with new branding and marketing initiatives
  • Opening and closing the operation
  • Daily operations standards.

Position Summary

Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings. Directs the work of hourly and supervisory food service workers, as well as other managers.Key Duties-Ensures there is a zero harm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees.-Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.-Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.-Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.-Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery. -Supervises day-to-day work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers.



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
