Responsible for utilizing reporting, data and analytics to assess solutions that will achieve Revenue Cycle Management performance and financial objectives. The position will provide operational support on current processes and help identify opportunities and solutions to meet current and future business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of overall business functions
  • Research, evaluate and interpret healthcare claims data
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Monitor existing tools and reports to identify variation in process or performance
  • Prepare complex reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions
  • Interview stakeholders for analysis and data-gathering exercises
  • Compile data from disparate sources and normalize when needed to draw meaningful conclusions
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Prepare forecasts and impact projections for strategic decision-making
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings
  • Develop cost estimate models
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Proactively communicate status and critical issues to leadership as needed
  • Work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines and travel when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Able to analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both in written and verbal form.
  • Able to summarize findings and document complex issues/processes in simple terms to all audiences (across business lines and with technical groups).
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis, Statistics or related management field, or, High School Diploma / GED and 4+ years of additional experience as stated in each bullet below
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or revenue cycle
  • 2+ years of experience working with BI Reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel required to include Macros, V-Lookups, build dashboards
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio and Word
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive VoiceResponse (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with Revenue Cycle in a healthcare environment
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with database concepts and query methodologies
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • Must be action and results-oriented
