What Youll Do

Ciscos Corporate Compliance organization is looking for a Safety Engineer to join its Product Safety team. You will also be responsible for the managing the CQS (Compliance Quality System). As the CQS Manager you will be responsible for management and implementation of the ISO 17025:2017 Quality System for Ciscos world-class test labs across multiple subject areas such as EMC, Electrical Safety, and Environmental. You will also be assisting the Corporate Compliance Product Safety team in conducting product safety tests and preparing safety certification reports.

Who Youll Work With

The Corporate Compliance group ensures regulatory, legal and certification requirements are met so that Cisco can certify, ship and deploy products globally. You will play a meaningful role in maintaining the ISO 17025 accreditation of Ciscos extraordinary test laboratories as well as supporting product safety testing for the Corporate Compliance group. You will be working will closely with accrediting agencies, product safety agencies, external vendors/suppliers, and cross-functionally with Engineering and Ciscos test labs.

Who You Are:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 + years proven experience with ISO 17025:2017 requirements
  • Proven ability to communicate with different audiences (staff to senior executives) and for different purposes (informational to persuasive)
  • Proven track record to advise and work collaboratively across multi-functional teams to a successful outcome regardless of reporting structure and organizational level
  • Experience in maintaining relevant areas of the laboratorys quality management system to ensure compliance with ISO 17025:2017
  • Experience working with external auditors on compliance initiatives, particularly in relation to ISO 17025:2017
  • demonstrated ability in product safety engineering and testing
  • Has a solid knowledge of the UL 60950 and 62368 series national and international standards.
  • Experience with UL, CSA, TUV or IEC product safety projects and approval processes
  • Experience preparing safety certification reports and related documents
  • Experience in interpreting safety standards and applying the requirements to products under investigation
  • Knowledge in EMC standards and requirements is a plus
