This position is full - time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday."Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift"schedules during our normal business hours of (9:00am - 5:30pm). Primary Responsibilities:

  • Schedules patient appointments"obtaining all patient demographic, insurance diagnosis and procedure"information and Verifies accurate insurance plan code assignment
  • Informs patients and providers that"a necessary authorization has not been obtained or that a procedure is being"flagged as not medically necessary and that the patient may need to sign a"non - covered services waiver onarrival
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to"determine if the doctor's order is consistentwith the"diagnosisprovided
  • Coordinates appointments for"patients with multiple procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of healthcare industry experience
  • Ability to pass Epic - Proficiency within 90 days of start date
  • Ability to work Full Time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • You"will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and"are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is"an essential function of this role
  • Employees are"required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive"Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar"UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site"each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any"state and local masking orders. In"addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear"a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Registration - Admitting experience
  • 1+ years of Health Information Management - ICD - 10 Diagnosis / CPT coding
  • Previous experience in hospital, surgery or specialty procedure scheduling
  • Knowledge of insurance health plans, coverage and authorization process
