The Immunopharmacology group within the Pfizer Inflammation and Immunology Research Unit is seeking a Scientist level candidate to assist in developing the next generation of disease-modifying therapeutics for autoimmune and fibrotic indications such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease. Specifically, the candidate will assist in the development of robust biochemical and cell-based assays with the goal of identifying and validating novel inhibitors of inflammatory pathways and diseases.


+ Design, optimize and execute molecular, biochemical and cell-based screening assays

+ Collaborate closely with supervisor and members of the Research Unit and of multi-disciplinary research project teams to advance pipeline projects.

+ Accurately interpret data and clearly present the results to colleagues across multiple teams

+ Occasionally provide progress updates at Group and/or Department meetings


+ BA/BS degree in biology, immunology or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience

+ Minimum of 2-4 years of assay development experience preferred

+ Strong background in mammalian cell culture techniques

+ Experience with fluorescence and chemiluminescence assays, plate readers and associated lab instrumentation

+ Experience with western blotting techniques

+ Ability to independently trouble-shoot experiments and persist in assay optimization. Must be able to thrive and deliver quality results on goals in a fast-paced, dynamic, innovative and highly multi-tasking environment.

+ Must work well as a member of teams in an inclusive manner.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.


+ Experience with Surface Plasmon Resonance, flow cytometry or High Content Screening

+ Experience with the isolation and assay of primary human immune cells
