Who You'll Work With

When you work with us, youll be part of a select group of software engineers that was created to handle unique security-focused projects. While the team is small, the work we do has significant, real-world impact, and requires our engineers to be willing to tackle hard problems, that are beyond their knowledge & skill level. As such, we believe heavily in talent cultivation within the team, and invest time in our engineers technical & career growth. Although we have the autonomy and openness to new ideas of a startup, we also have the support & infrastructure of a large corporation.

What You'll Do

You will work in Austin, Texas, applying common software development methodologies to produce reliable software systems. A background in secure software development is a plus, but not required. Your work will follow known software engineering practices; design a solution to a problem, write the code to implement the solution, and create tests to verify your implementation works properly. Due to the strict quality standards on our team, everyone's work goes through multiple code reviews, sometimes resulting in a change in design or approach. We will train you on what you should know to meet the coding standards, and how to perform the code reviews on our work.

The work is challenging, but we prioritize a proper work/life balance. It will be rare that you will be in the office more than 40 hours a week. On this team, contribution & performance are measured by the work you do, not how much time you spend at your desk. There is a lot of flexibility for dealing with life outside of work, because we believe this helps the team perform at its highest level.

Who You Are

You are highly motivated, passionate about software engineering & security, able to pick up new technologies & programming languages, have phenomenal communication skills, and a desire to work with hardworking individuals.

The most important thing you can bring to this position are the skills necessary to learn new technical skills, and communicate effectively within our team. We've become a successful team by focusing on the growth of each member. If you have the desire & capability to develop the technical skills needed for this role, we have the willingness to train!


  • Up-to-date Top Secret security clearance with full-scope polygraph
  • Familiarity with UNIX (flavor agnostic)
  • Due to federal government contracts, US citizenship is required for this position.

Desired skills:

  • Full software life-cycle development (research through post-release maintenance)
  • In-depth understanding of C (pointers, memory management, etc)
  • Assembly (Intel, PowerPC, MIPS)
  • Debugging (gdb)
  • Ruby, Python, shell scripting experience a plus
  • Version control (git)
