What You'll Do

We need a fast-learning, highly-motivated developer who can thrive in a complex and dynamic environment. Working with our team of architects and engineers, you will create and support the custom applications behind Cisco's rapidly growing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic services. Updating existing applications to meet new business requirements, designing and developing new solutions for emerging technologies, assisting engineers in the delivery of highly specialized cryptographic infrastructure projects and key operations outcomes will all be a part of your role. Because you will be working to deliver critical cryptographic services to the company, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide variety of internal Cisco teams, such as IT, Engineering, Supply Chain and customer-facing business units. As member of the team, you will assist in code reviews, application testing and may be called on to provide after-hours support during critical issues.

Who You'll Work With

We are a centralized group of architects, developers, engineers and project/program managers that specialize in building and delivering cryptographic key and certificate management capabilities to the company, as well as enabling the business to deliver enhanced services to Cisco's customers. From TLS to anti-counterfeit to software-signing to information rights management to product licensing, this group of highly talented and passionate individuals provide critical security services across the breadth of Cisco's internal and external functions.

Who You Are

You are a team player, trusted by your clients and peers to deliver strong outcomes. As a mid-career individual with the desire and initiative to expand your skills in a highly critical and complex environment you have a track record of juggling multiple projects and managing shifting priorities.

  • At a minimum, we expect you to have excellent programming and debugging skills in Java and Python, as well as excellent website creation experience (HTML, CSS, Javascript, JSP) and experience using Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Maven, Hibernate).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, TLS) and knowledge of common web attacks (CSRF, SQL Injection, Javascript injection, etc) and their mitigation.
  • You have experience with Ansible, the deployment of RESTful web services, extensive experience working in a Linux/Unix environment and excellent documentation skills.

As a bonus, you have an understanding of asymmetric and symmetric cryptography (RSA, ECC, AES), PKCS standards and working experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and crypto libraries, such as IAIK and Bouncy Castle.

Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic information, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected basis.

Cisco will consider for employment, on a case by case basis, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

We Are Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Heres how we do it.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think were old (30 years strong!) and only about hardware, but were also a software company. And a security company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do you cant put us in a box!

But Digital Transformation is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Dont care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? Thats cool.
