The Senior Actuarial Associate, Retirement Valuation plays a key role in supporting the valuation and financial reporting process for Prudentials Retirement Valuation and Projections team.


Primary responsibilities include: 
  • Prepare reserve results and other financial reporting deliverables for Prudentials suite of products (eg. Structured Settlements, Pension Risk Transfer, Longevity Risk Transfer, etc.).  This role will primarily focus on preparing GAAP financials under FASB Targeted Improvements but may include other responsibilities as assigned, including Statutory and Tax reporting.

  • Analyze drivers of periodic reserve results, and prepare supporting management reports, dashboards, and exhibits

  • Implement, maintain, and enhance financial reporting processes, infrastructure, and controls to ensure accurate and timely delivery of high-quality results

  • Partner with other associates to test and implement new reporting processes, procedures, and system enhancements to support evolving financial reporting and regulatory requirements

  • Support control-related activities, including the maintenance of control evidence for various audiences including management, auditors, and regulators

  • Support other actuarial functions, such as forecasting,

  • Be an active participant in Prudentials actuarial community

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other highly quantitative fields
  • 2 years of actuarial or related experience with Retirement products required.  Knowledge of GAAP, Statutory and Tax valuation and/or financial reporting principles a plus.

  • Demonstrated exam progress towards ASA preferred. Successful completion of exam LTAM (Long Term Actuarial Mathematics, formerly MLC) a plus. Exam support will be provided.

  • Strong technical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models required. Experience with Excel, SQL, VBA, and actuarial software a plus.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Highly motivated and ability to thrive in a results-oriented environment with high quality standards.  Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

  • Fast learner and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment
