PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data. Enabling this program will:

Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout

PepsiCos systems:

Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations

Position Overview:

The Leader will be the guide and champion of PepsiCos data governance program. Initially, this will entail creating and implementing an enterprise-wide data governance program and its related processes utilizing leading practices. Ongoing management of this program will be crucial to ensure the consistent and effective execution of data governance management principles and standards across all of PepsiCo's enterprise and analytical systems and data domains.

This position is responsible for the planning, alignment and execution of Enterprise Data Governance Programs projects and activities.

This person works as a project lead or directly with overall project leaders, global and regional teams, projects team, functional teams, master data management team, regulatory and quality teams, as well as business partners to ensure strong working relationships and processes, resulting in the achievement of stated final project objectives.

Ultimately, this position is accountable for the success of PepsiCos data governance program and must ensure the economical cost and satisfaction of the business units we serve.

Program Definition and Execution:

  • Responsible for program definition and execution; develop the strategy and vision of the program over the next 3-5 years, in collaboration with the broader Data Management & Operations pillar.
  • Lead a team that translates strategies into program/project plans; including scope management, stakeholder management, deliverables (KPIs), schedule, budget management, risk management and resource requirements.

Data Governance Education/Literacy:

  • Accountable for designing/creating a Governance Education Program to help others understand the importance and steps to successful data governance in business language.
  • Accountable for helping leaders understand critical data governance concepts (e.g. reusable asset, source system, operational layer, master data, etc.).

Project Leadership & Coaching:

  • Coach direct/indirect reports (project teams) to ensure a comprehensive, integrated program strategy that delivers outcomes of strategic importance to the business.
  • Act as a global leader for cross-functional project teams; identify the Project Teams, oversee the Project Plans (Gantts), leads and oversee coordinate execution of all activities required for change implementation.
  • Lead a team that creates/maintains the project documentation that will be used throughout the change lifecycle ensuring change is controlled and aligned with strategy and business objectives.
  • Prioritize work and resources to best meet priorities and financial targets, resolving issues and initiating corrective actions as appropriate for delivery of the program.
  • Leading and motivating the project team; ensuring the behaviours norms expectations of team members are established.
  • Ensuring that the cross-functional members work as a team focused on business unit goals identified and managing program and solution interdependencies.
  • Holding the project team accountable to critical milestone dates; highlighting opportunities for acceleration; clearly communicating project delays and escalations. Coaching and/or mentoring indirect reports (project team) to ensure a comprehensive, integrated program strategy that delivers outcomes of strategic importance to the business.

Program Governance & Performance:

  • Develop/manage program governance model and communication plan (verbal or written), both internally and externally.
  • Establishing and leading proactive, transparent, and effective communications cadence to ensure timely dissemination of information with the senior leadership team, program/project teams, and matrix stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the program and seek regular feedback from leadership and stakeholders to transparently report out on program performance and business partner satisfaction.
  • Quantify the benefit to business partners and ensure results are aligned, known with P&L translation.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain/Operations and Commercial Data
  • Knowledge of various ERPs/systems
  • SAP S/4 Hana knowledge (preferred)

Competencies:

  • 6-8+ years of experience within their current or similar role(s)
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership/management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data project management experience involving governance/data quality remediation
  • PMP or equivalent qualification
  • Data Management and Governance experience within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company, or related
  • Experience working across the PepsiCo organization, ideally with multi-country or global implementation experience involving data
  • Knowledge of some of the key concepts around master data management, data standards and organizations
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of master data elements and processes per the necessary in-scope data domain (i.e. Customer, Material, Supplier, and Finance)
  • Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability to foster lasting partnerships
  • Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements
