We are seeking a Senior Director of Product Strategy, Payor Portfolio.  The Sr. Dir of Product will work to develop, define and execute the product strategy for the Payor portfolio, aligned to the Payor market and business. This role will have responsibility in developing innovative solutions that straddle multiple portfolios within the Payor business across the pillars of Payment Integrity, Risk and Quality and Payor Analytics.

 

The Sr. Dir of Product strategy has a deep understanding of the Payor market, operations and business along with the broader healthcare ecosystem. This leader translates market trends along with client and consumer needs into a product strategy that ensures that business growth and revenue goals are achieved.


This role is responsible for the strategic product management activities for the product portfolio and driving innovative products   This includes working closely with technology, growth office, operations, marketing, finance, and all other key stakeholders across Optum and UHC


The role reports to the Head of the  OptumInsight Payor product organization.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with Optum leadership to create and drive forward Payor Product offerings across Optum's Payor platform
  • Create and develop new Payor Product offerings to drive, and execute on strategy with value creation for the industry as well as positioning Optum's product suite and feature/functionality to benefit our clients
  • Evaluate market feedback, interests and needs to ensure product advancement and lifecycle will continue to maximize opportunities and deliver the desired customer and user experience
  • Oversees upstream product definition and downstream product development and execution in line with client needs. Develops solutions that maximize profit through alignment of enterprise and client objectives
  • Assists leadership across the organization to create better alignment with business partners across business units, business segments, and functional areas. Partners with leadership to develop product and partnership initiatives guardrails which define how Optum approaches external collaboration
  • Partners with sales and relationship leaders to identify client opportunities. Builds trust and inspires confidence in prospects. Ensures persuasive delivery of information and negotiates win-win agreements
  • Builds strong strategic relationships with key commercial Payor partners and maximizes product sales and portfolio balance. Identifies best-of-breed companies as potential partners and/or acquisition targets to elevate Optum's processes and product offerings
  • Communicates a clear and compelling vision. Builds a broad base of support among stakeholders and key decision-makers. Drives alignment around core product and client objectives
  • Fosters teamwork, collaboration, innovation and employee engagement. Supports proven processes and procedures while encouraging creative approaches and ideation
  • Synthesizes competitive analysis and market assessments to drive the product strategy, prioritize investments, and establish go-to-market strategies that capitalize on market trends, customer needs and competitive positioning
  • Establishes a Strategic Roadmap for the new Payor product offerings, including New Product concepts, extensions and building on existing solutions
  • Understands and documents macro / micro market trends and competitive threats to drive the Business capability's strategy and underpin the most important features
  • Constantly collects and analyzes performance data (e.g., market, financial, and operational) in order to identify new opportunities for the business
  • Engages key clients for strategic discussions on market trend impact, current issues, and new product concepts
