Job Purpose



Enhancing access to medicines and addressing patient affordability challenges are key priorities for Pfizer. An important way to achieve these goals is to ensure that Pfizer's innovative therapies are available to all patients who are beneficiaries of Government public health programs and by creating therapy area specific partnerships with the Government and non-Government organizations to expand access.



This position is responsible for developing and executing policy advocacy and partnership strategies aimed at enhancing access of Pfizer's innovative medicines portfolio to patients through important federal public health programs and non-Government programs.



The primary focus of this role will be on large scale Central Government programs, disease specific national programs of the Ministry of Health, access initiatives of other Ministries (including the Dept. of Pharmaceuticals) and other such opportunities. Additionally, opportunities with important non-Government organizations may also be explored for access to Pfizer therapies.



The position will work closely with the Market Access, Commercial and Medical teams in-country and with global colleagues to identify or create opportunities, prepare and advance advocacy strategies, lead the dialogue and create successful outcomes.



Position Responsibilities:



**Identify existing opportunities and enable access to Pfizer therapies** - The position will conduct comprehensive opportunity mapping of public health programs with potential for partnerships, identify relevant stakeholders and lead the engagement. Priority focus shall be on flagship central govt. healthcare reimbursement programs and other disease specific programs of the Ministry of Health. Successful outcomes will also required close collaboration with Market Access and Commercial teams to create proposals that are aligned within Pfizer and appropriate for the targeted program.



**Create new access opportunities and Government partnerships through policy advocacy and concept pitches** - Aligned to therapeutic areas of priority, this position will explore new collaborations that can be created (with a focus at Central level) with Government and non-Government agencies to enhance access to treatment.



**Resolve barriers that may prevent innovative therapies from being made available in public health programs** - Through direct Pfizer advocacy and also enlisting support of associations, policy advocacy will aim to remove barriers that may prevent innovative therapies from being available in public health programs. This will require creative problem solving and collaboration internally - so as to build alignment on potential solutions - and purposeful engagement and advocacy externally with policy makers and decision makers.



**Provide inputs to access and pricing models that are suitable for targeted payer programs** - Work closely with Pfizer's Access, Health and Value teams to co-develop pricing models for specific use in Government programs that help address access and affordability challenges, meet the requirements of the payer programs and are aligned with Pfizer's global pricing principles



**Build reputation and maintain high degree of engagement with public health stakeholders** - Lead the conversation and represent Pfizer with Government and other stakeholders relevant to the Access imperative. Raise Pfizer's visibility in events, conferences, workshops, roundtables and other platforms that are focused on Access. Develop policy inputs, white-papers, concept notes for use in advocacy. Build engagement with other influential stakeholders to advance the access dialogue in partnership with Corporate Affairs regional and global patient advocacy teams (in and above market), including but not limited to patient groups, academic institutions, non-profits and subject matter experts.
