\u003Cdiv data-field=\u0022Position_Description\u0022 class=\u0022Summary\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPOSITION PURPOSE\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E The Senior Manager, Merchandising Initatives plans and manages projects to design/implement improved merchandising business processes and to complete the business activities (process design, requirements definition, user training, change management, etc.) associated with the implementation of new merchandising information systems. May be responsible for managing more than one project at a time. Provides management leadership and development coaching/guidance to Business Analysts. The Senior Manager, Merchandise Process Management also provides management leadership to the MPM team in selected areas such as CBA development, recruiting coordination, and methodology development.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EMAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Staff, develop and manage the performance of the department\u0027s associates to support associate development and departmental effectiveness. Direct reports may include Managers, Supervisors and Professional Associates. \u003Cbr /\u003E Oversees the management of large scale process and information systems initiatives. \u003Cbr /\u003E Partners with Merchandising clients (MVPs, Merchants, Staff) to effect process improvements, process change, business strategy analysis and usage of information technology. \u003Cbr /\u003E Responsible to identify current and future (1-3 years) business process improvement opportunities. \u003Cbr /\u003E Responsible for department expense/payroll planning and management; as well as overall MPM administration.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003ENATURE AND SCOPE\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Typically reports to Director, Merchandising\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr /\u003E Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EAdditional Environmental Job Requirements: \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Located in a comfortable indoor area. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EPreferred Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Significant requirement for managing others and applying company specific know-how in order to achieve key operating results. Example: Managing a functional area such as government affairs, employee benefits, store planning, credit, visual presenation, and district/regional store operations management. \u003Cbr /\u003E Expertise in one or several technical or business administration disciplines.\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:\u003C/strong\u003EProven leadership skills. Willing and able to create and manage associate development plans. \u003Cbr /\u003E Experience and expertise using quantitative analysis methods and tools. \u003Cbr /\u003E Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively to all levsls of associates - including Sr. Management. \u003Cbr /\u003E In depth understanding of retail merchandising and operations, or related field. Cross functional experience. \u003Cbr /\u003E Proven management experience with business process evaluation, procedural defination and/or application systems design/development \u003Cbr /\u003E Proven ability to manage in a project team environment; experience managing multiple projects, deadlines and priorities to meet commitments.\u003C/div\u003E
