Orrick has an exciting opening for a US based experienced Temporary Senior Marketing Manager who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm.

What Will You Do? We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Senior Marketing Manager to help tell our Life Sciences and Technology Transactions stories. In this role you will develop innovative approaches, distinctive thought leadership and go-to-market strategies that convey our understanding of our client's life sciences and tech transactional needs.

Named the most innovative law firm by Financial Times, we are looking for a forward-thinking creative professional who can be both strategic and hands on, involved in the digital transformation of legal services and how these offerings are promoted to clients and markets. 

Our ideal candidate will have a strong track record of aligning marketing activities to client strategies and be skilled in strategic pitching support. You will be responsible for high-quality content marketing, market and company research, directory submissions and project management.

You will collaborate with the various functional units within Marketing, Sales and Communications, including the Events, Pitch and Proposal, Creative Services, Operations, Media Relations, and Client Relationship teams, as well as with other departments and programs within the firm, including Research, Knowledge Management, Community Responsibility and Diversity & Inclusion.

You will work closely with the Marketing Director of Technology & Innovation, and will contribute to the management of activities and mentor and coach junior team members.  


Your qualifications:

  • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years marketing or business development management experience.
  • Law firm marketing and business development experience, particularly experience with Life Sciences strongly preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills. Applicants should be expected to submit a writing sample.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills, laser-like attention to detail and a focus on efficiency.
  • Ability to balance competing needs and continually prioritize (and re-prioritize) tasks at a moment’s notice.
  • Creative thinker with ability to perform the job at a high level.
  • Establishes rapport well and is a good listener; can collaborate comfortably with partners and team members both inside and outside of the firm.
  • Eager to take action and be highly productive in dynamic, high-pressure situations.
  • Strong client service approach and team orientation.
  • Strong technical knowledge, computer skills and experience with (or the ability to become proficient in) the use of marketing systems and tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Interaction (CRM Software) including Tikit and Vuture (Broadcast Email and Event Registrations Suite), Orrick’s relevant firm and marketing systems, including deals database, portal (SharePoint) and eReports.
