Optum is seeking a Pharmaceutical Data Analyst to join the Pharmacy"Advisory Services team based in Minnetonka, MN. This team is responsible for"providing data analytics to support United Healthcare Pharmacy's (UHCP)"data-driven solutions that improve the lives of millions.

Primary Responsibilities:
""
  • Design, code and execute programs to extract,"aggregate and manipulate pharmacy and medical claims from various sources,"identify data integrity issues
  • Develop new and maintain existing SAS programs"to analyze healthcare claims to support ad hoc data requests, including data"processing, data cleansing and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
  • Transform data and/or develop insights for use"in business decisions
  • Develop and support programs to run automated"jobs to extract data, perform statistical analysis, and generate reports
  • Promote usability and software development best"practices
  • Perform data quality control checks on code and"deliverables
  • Participate in data sources research, identify"data integrity issues, and select relevant information
  • Participate in interpretation business requirements"and create technical specifications
  • Ensure high quality delivery to the customers"and participate in formal delivery to business customers
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and"information relating to current data analysis technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Statistics,"Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant STEM degree or equivalent 4"years additional experience
  • 6+ years programming in SAS, R, Stata, Matlab,"SPSS, or similar, with strong familiarity with SQL
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a corporate"environment
  • 2+ years Health care experience
  • 2+ years experience managing projects from"beginning to completion with little oversight.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, and"database structures and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools including Word,"Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with medical and pharmacy"claims (including drug pricing)
  • SAS Certificate and/or SAS trainings
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics or Statistics,"Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant STEM degree

  • Tableau experience
