*Department Summary*
The Marketing Technology team of the Edward Jones Agency partners with other Marketing and Technology departments to identify, select and implement new technological solutions designed to deliver an unparalleled client experience. We leverage data, insights and tools to enable a more efficient, targeted and personalized process of attracting new clients and deepening existing client relationships.

*Responsibility Summary*
The Technical Senior Project Leader will lead the strategic execution of large and medium projects that support an unparalleled client experience. These efforts require a high degree of collaboration with business partners from across Marketing, Technology, Service, Compliance and other divisions of Edward Jones, and/or technical vendors. The projects will offer variety and challenge. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a broad understanding of marketing technologies, how to connect strategy to solutions, and be skilled at leading cross-functional teams comprised of strategists, creatives, data analysts, developers and external vendors to accomplish important business objectives.

*Key responsibilities include:*
* Facilitate intake process, prioritization and roadmap management (construct, manage, monitor).
* Lead the marketing technology strategy development for select initiatives, including communication and supporting the ongoing management of the strategy
* Partner with business leaders and teams to organize the work, manage resources, oversee and/or conduct analysis, synthesize findings, and develop recommendations. Helps team continuously challenge and improve processes and services. Challenges status quo.
* Aid the cross-functional product teams to operate as effectively as possible with a focus on alignment, communication, and processes and scale. Seeks and respects alternative approaches and conflicting viewpoints to identify mutually agreeable solutions.
* Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across multiple areas, divisions, outside vendors who are supporting the product. Delivers clear and concise, strategic communication, ensuring there is a solid understanding of objectives and measures of success.
* Provide timely communication of status, milestones and unexpected difficulties/issues to senior leadership for decision making.
* Use metrics and controls to measure progress, take preventative and corrective action and escalate issues and risks when necessary.
* Remove roadblocks for the product teams regarding processes, tools, responsibilities as well as driving accountability challenges and escalation as needed.
* Assist with vendor selection process (including sourcing and SOW development) and assist with managing vendor relationship.
* Funding management including budget planning, management and tracking.
* Establish and manage appropriate project change management process/mechanism to scope, schedule, and costs for non-technical pieces of work. Provides clear direction and articulates benefits to optimize team and individual buy-in/adoption when implementing change.
* Monitor, confirm, and drive to resolution the resource needs of the product teams in order to execute on their roadmaps. This could include the onboarding and managing of resources including vendors used by the product teams.


*Preferred Qualifications*
* Prior knowledge/experience working in highly regulated industries such as financial services
* Experience as a program manager or product owner. Certification is a plus.
* Prior experience managing external agency relationships, developing and executing RFPs

*Required*
* Must have a broader understanding and experience in marketing technologies including customer data platforms, marketing automation and email marketing as well as custom web applications. Must understand how these systems can work together to deliver highly-personalized experiences.
* Deep understanding of digital and Agile best practices.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be comfortable leading discussions between business areas and technical experts to determine project needs. Ability to convey technical concepts in an understandable manner appropriate to the audience.
* Experience with project and/or functional leadership in the industry in increasingly responsible positions. Can include both formal and informal leadership roles.
* 7+ years of experience in technical project leadership or product ownership in consumer marketing team, preferably financial services, showing increasing level of responsibility
* Ability to independently identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate, and/or resolve elements that can impact a project.
