Pfizer Integrative Biotechnology Group (IBG) located at Pearl River, NY is within the Oncology Research Division of Pfizer Worldwide Research & Development. IBG is dedicated to developing the next generation oncology therapeutics and therapeutic combinations by employing a multidisciplinary approach to target cancer cell cycle and modulate tumor microenvironment. This senior scientist level position will join the Integrative Biotechnology Group to contribute to an integrative discovery effort focused on illuminating targets for biotherapeutic development.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join us at a Senior Scientist level to contribute to protein/antibody engineering for next generation protein biotherapeutics development. The successful candidate will work closely and collaborate effectively with colleagues in Target Therapeutic Discovery and Cancer Immune Discovery organizations to identify and prioritize opportunities for novel drug development.

Candidate will demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication, capable of presenting scientific results to collaborators, and at external scientific meetings. S/he will be reporting to experienced scientist.


+ Carry out hands-on lab work to apply molecular biology, cancer biology, protein biochemistry and protein engineering techniques to generate novel protein therapeutics to target immune system.

+ Effectively manage projects and resources to maximize progress.

+ Communicate experimental findings accurately and concisely in both oral and written formats.

+ Work to build a positive external reputation by both publishing research in high-tier journals and presenting at international meetings.

+ Help to build a culture that embraces scientific excellence, continuous learning, and increasing our team's ability to deliver novel drug development opportunities through the rapid incorporation of emerging biotechnologies to ensure our team continues research on the leading-edge of oncology drug discovery.


+ Ph.D. in Protein Biochemistry, Cancer Biology or related discipline plus 3+ years of academic experience at the postdoctoral level or 3+ years of company experience in industrial settings.

+ Ability to independently design, plan and execute and interpret experiments.

+ A broad understanding of protein/antibody design, protein/antibody expression, molecular biology and Tumor immunology.

+ Hands-on experience with protein/antibody expression, biophysical characterizations and in vitro and ex-vivo cell based functional assays.


+ Technical expertise with instruments such as GE AKTA Pure/Avant, Agilent HPLC, Perkin-Elmer LabChip, and Biacore, and Waters Acquity/Xevo.

+ Prior experience in working with immune cell biology and immune system derived proteins like antibody, TCR, cytokine, and antibody-like scaffold proteins is preferred.

+ Previous experience with protein engineering techniques such as phage display and yeast display is preferred.

+ Strong track record of scientific accomplishments demonstrated through publications in highly regarded journals and/or intellectual property generation.

+ Track record of demonstrating analytical skills, creativity, and unique problem solving skills

+ Demonstrated experience in effectively managing projects.


Must have strong interpersonal skills, high motivation and drive for discovery science and a desire to work in highly collaborative environment.


There will be less than 5% travel.
