Pfizer is excited to present an opening for a Sr. Scientist, Translational Omics position within our Drug Safety organization.



**ROLE SUMMARY**



Biomarker science is a transformative discipline to catalyze and accelerate discovery and development of new therapeutics for patients with unmet medical need. As a Translational Omics Scientist, you will be responsible for discovering biological data and insights from multi-omics experiments and large datasets. You will have the opportunity to test a hypothesis using state-of-the-art omics platforms to discover and validate small and large RNAs, proteins, metabolites, lipids etc as safety and/or disease monitoring biomarkers. You will also have the opportunity to apply computational skills for biomarker discovery, development and translation. As a lead biomarker scientist, you will participate and provide scientific and technical leadership to drug development team members.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Use cutting edge methodology/technology to discover, develop, validate and translate novel mechanistic multiparametric biomarker panels to understand phenotypic safety and pharmacology.

+ Contribute to the development of knowledge infrastructure and growing the content and analytical tools necessary to support biological interpretation of integrated omics molecular data.

+ Leverage understanding of biological pathways and disease pathogenesis to create insights from the analysis of integrated omics data and knowledge

+ Participate in workstreams for curation, integration of external databases, and text mining/Natural Language Processing.

+ Develop curation guidelines and training materialsfor representation of biologicalknowledge.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Ph.D. with up to 2 years of experience in biological sciences preferably with focus in molecular biology or other advanced degree with significant experience in systems, omics and molecular biology, systems pharmacology, translational medicine, biomarker science, machine learning, bioengineering, toxicology and disease biology

+ Experience working with high-throughput molecular data and delivering high value insights. Expert in signaling pathways

+ Expertise with mechanistic investigation of toxicity findings and fit for purpose biomarker development/evaluation, with a record of peer-reviewed publications and/or scientific presentations (e.g. abstracts, posters, podium presentations) related to biological sciences.

+ Experiencewith biomedicaldatabases and ontologies. Familiaritywith scripting languages(e.g., Python) and/or R/Bioconductor. Experiencewithcommonly used software for data visualization(e.g., Spotfire)andsystems biology/pathway analysis (e.g.,Cytoscape, GSEA)

+ Strong attention to detail, communication, and organization skills.

+ Team playerwithsolidcollaboration skills. Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and mission-driven atmosphere



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Experience with text mining or natural language processingarea plus, but not required
