Your Role and Responsibilities
Position will be located in California or Texas.

The Hybrid Cloud Services Sales Line Representative is a position at IBM Global Technology Services organization responsible for sales of the Hybrid Cloud portfolio of services for multi-cloud platforms across IBM, Google , AWS & Azure clouds. The solution portfolio includes Design, Build , Migrate & Managed Services for Client's Server, Storage, and Cloud Platforms and selected Business Partner Offerings among other capabilities.


Candidates must have previous experience selling Cloud Services and/or must have experience selling AWS or Azure Public Cloud solutions. Pre-sales / Sales certifications from either Amazon, Microsoft, or both are highly preferred.

AWS Certifications: AWS Business Professional, AWS TCO and Cloud Economics, & AWS Solutions Training for Partners: Foundations.
Microsoft Certifications: Candidates being able to show training/certification in AZURE is highly desired.


A technical background is also highly preferred. Ideal candidates should be able to act as a technical subject matter expert on Hybrid cloud & Public Cloud (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure,) primarily focusing on PaaS & IAAS offerings and related operations technologies and best practices. Candidates will be helping customers / prospects understand complex architectures and infrastructure designs, with a focus on automation, migration, deployment, and cloud brokerage services. Candidates should be able to help customers better understand best practices on the public/hybrid cloud platforms and how to transition workloads to theses cloud platforms. Furthermore, successful candidates will work with our customers to ensure strategic business objectives are being met while addressing tactical business issues the client's face in their cloud first efforts.

What you can expect in the role:
  • This role requires Client interfacing and engagement while selling the Hybrid Cloud Services portfolio to our diverse Clients'
  • Building trust and loyalty with key decision makers
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams in developing complex solutions for specific client opportunities and in developing client deliverables such as a request for information (RFI), request for proposal response (RFP), and statements of work (SOWs), and client proposals/ presentations
  • May be asked to conduct formal enablement sessions in the areas of Infrastructure Management Services (both Traditional and Cloud) to various stakeholders, IBM internal Opportunity Owner and Opportunity Identifying communities, business partners and customers
  • Partnering with clients' and conduct needs analysis for them
  • Understanding communication needs, business issues and buying motives (compelling reasons to act) of both current and prospective clients'
  • Delivering right solution for clients evolving business requirements with prompt and efficient services
  • Provide accurate and timely forecast, funnel management, target/objective updates to deliver on territory plans
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the Hybrid Cloud Services portfolio
  • Devising and executing new sales strategies to expand client base

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
The Hybrid Cloud Services Service Line Representative (SLR) must possess the following Skills: sales/closing skills, business development skills, financial selling skills, significant IT Industry knowledge, large and complex deal skills, significant knowledge of cloud , server, storage, and operating systems, deep understanding of managed services, an ability to work in a matrixed environment, outstanding oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and an ability to team and function in team selling environments as well as sell alone and without assistance.




Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • At least 12 15 years experience in IT Services Solution Selling, or Consulting to IT executives; e.g.: CTOs, CIOs, VP of Infra, Data Center Directors
  • AWS Certifications: AWS Business Professional, AWS TCO and Cloud Economics, & AWS Solutions Training for Partners: Foundations.
  • Microsoft Certifications: Candidates being able to show training/certification in AZURE is highly desired.
  • At least 2 yearsexperience in supporting and selling solutions into Retail , CPG , Travel & Transportation customer
  • At least 2 yearsexperience in Technical Solution Development
  • At least 3 yearsexperience in Leveraging Partners/Solution Providers
  • At least 3 yearsexperience in Financial Selling , Business Case and Proposal Development
  • At least 3 years' experience in face to face Opportunity Identification Selling to Data Center Executives
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • BS Degree required
  • Must be located in California or Texas
