Auto req ID: 268794BR Job Description The Site Director manages the Rhinelander Research Farm Operations and provides leadership with the Rhinelander planning, development and conducting of research programs for potato and oat variety development. Provides the farm and research teams, with leadership in the strategic planning and execution of day-to-day operations, implementation and execution of the latest best practices solutions for seed and commercial production, including harvesting, transportation and storage, and the successful execution of the certified breeder seed program. The role is responsible for team management as well as the repair and maintenance of all the assets at the Rhinelander PepsiCo Inc./Frito Lay facilities. As a site people leader, the role will ensure that resources, administration, and teams are developed and accountable for achieving long-term and short-term business goals. Responsibilities: Maintains P&L responsibility over maintenance cost centers, repair and maintenance, maintenance labor, utilities and capital improvement plans. Responsible for regulatory, environmental, and legal compliance related to safety, maintenance, and utilities. Responsible for people and team development. Responsible for safety for Rhinelander sites and across multiple teams. Develop and coach all program leaders, front-line managers and team members to solve operational issues. Assures equipment reliability to maximize program productivity. Develop and maintain an active business continuity program for the site. Tracks standard site KPIs and prioritizes improvement opportunities Ensure that the continuous improvement process is followed and influence change across multiple teams. Ensure that employees within the site are aligned with business unit goals and objectives. Deliver effective change leadership - driving business changes and delivering objectives. Develop team to solve and own day-to-day operational issues and reach short- & long-term performance goals Communicate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues Organize and facilitate work team meetings Works closely with GP and R&D customers to deliver expected results Ability to think quickly, creatively and challenge the team to do the same Seeks out and implements best practices Qualifications/Requirements Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Project management skills including business development, financial management, continuous improvement decision making, group leadership, and interpersonal skill leadership Inspirational leadership skills, including the ability to set the agenda, communicate clearly, concisely, and influence cross-functional and senior teams. Ability to lead and develop a diverse team Self-starter with a strong drive for results, self-motivated, team leader. High drive for results and takes initiative Ten to 15 years experience with agricultural farm or manufacturing operations management, field operations, and/or research and development operations management. Thorough knowledge of potato (or row crops) crop production with demonstrated success in the application of new technology and operations management. Proficient with computer software applications for word processing and spreadsheet analysis. Facilitation and project management experience. Effective presentation skills and solid oral and written communications. Prior team leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead and influence Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment Strong leadership with the ability to get results through mentoring skills Minimum Qualifications: Degree preferably in plant science or engineering, business operations management, or a similar field. Recommended - BS Degree in Agronomy & Plant Science / Production Agriculture / Ag. Business / Horticulture or other related fields.
