Who You'll Work With As an integral member of this team, you will work with a team of seasoned engineers. You will have the opportunity to architect, design, and develop some of the worlds most widely deployed Enterprise Switches that are continuously evolving towards enabling the support of newer and exciting customer business paradigms.

Who You Are
Excellent quality is what drives you. To ensure this, you have a thorough understanding of distributed/centralized hardware architectures of routers/switches. Your concepts are strong and you have a good knowledge of L2, L3, and MPLS protocols and forwarding infrastructure. You possess the necessary skills to work in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with multi-functional teams.
- Experience: 9-15 years
- Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/EC or technical equivalent.
- Ability to write good software in C.
- Experience with real-time O/S (VxWorks, pSOS or IOS, Linux, etc.)
- Expertise in using Unix/Linux development tools, and Linux virtualization.
- Experience in network processor programming, POSIX thread programming.
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, multicast protocols, network synchronization, segment routing, SDN, manageability (telemetry, gRPC, Netconf/Yang, etc.)
Services Team: If the opening is for the Services Team, you should have good knowledge about Network Security Protocols like IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.1AE, NAT, IPSec etc Having working knowledge in areas like QoS, Netflow and Openflow will help you quickly integrate with the team and its mandate.
FORWARDING TEAM:
Good understanding of bridging and routing fundamentals. Working knowledge of unicast and multicast packet forwarding for both bridging and routing cases. Good understanding on campus or enterprise network deployment architectures. Hands on experience in development of L2 or L3 control plane protocols like STP/RSTP,UDLD, IGMP, RIP/OSPF/BGP/ISIS, BFD, PIM/MLD. Hands on experience in configuring and solving data plane features in ASICs.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
