**The Job**


As Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement data-driven features within our data processing pipelines and report delivery systems. You will lead development initiatives, draft technical designs, implement improvements to process and our software development lifecycle, and contribute to the direction of our technology while working in close collaboration with your engineering team and dedicated product owner. You will develop a deep understanding of our data processing platform and applications for the demand side so as to be able to produce optimal code and advise others on the technology. We foster a culture of improvement, and you will help drive internal discussions on technologies, products, and processes. We enable engineers of all experience levels to grow and develop their leadership, and you will play an important role as a technical mentor for your team.


This role includes the eventual possibility, if desired, to take on career development and people leader responsibilities for members of your team as Team Lead.


Our stack includes Java, Kafka, HDFS, SingleStore, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Concourse. Our applications are deployed in multiple Xandr-managed data centers around the world and in Azure.


**The Team**


The Invest Data Driven Experiences team equips ad traders with the insight they need to effectively leverage the powerful tools made available to them within the Demand Side Platform. With timely and concise reports about how campaigns are performing, marketplace dynamics, and expected outcomes, ad traders can make decisions to reach their desired audiences most efficiently. Additionally, predictive analytics and adaptive user experiences present this information at the right moments in trader workflow and campaign lifecycles for traders to maximize their impact with minimal human-driven analysis and attention. The Data Driven Experiences team is responsible for producing near-real-time and batch-processed reports and modern adaptive user-experiences through end-to-end development. This involves processing of massive amounts of data, organizing it into analytics-focused databases, production of useful data products, and presentation of user-friendly interfaces and exportable reports. Our remote-friendly team enjoys working collaboratively and is geo-distributed with engineering hubs in our New York City headquarters, Portland, Oregon, and Boulder, Colorado. **You Will**


+ Translation of complex requirements into a technical design implementation plan that can be implemented by you and your team collaboratively

+ Code contributions to backend database definition, data processing, and data presentation systems

+ Effective communication with technical peers and Product

+ Evangelism of improvements to our software development lifecycle including how to test for correctness, monitor for performance, and keep up with scale in our ad marketplace

+ Ensuring the success operation of our applications in production through effective monitoring and participation in our on-call rotation


**You Have**


+ 2-4 years of professional software development experience

+ A desire to collaborate and participate in open engineering discussions where every participant's voice is a valuable contribution to the team's work outcome

+ Hands-on implementation experience with data processing pipelines or other complex backend systems

+ Strong SQL or related data retrieval technology skills


**Nice to have**


+ A familiarity with the fundamentals of modern data-intensive applications involving analytics-focused databases and data processing at scale

+ Implementation experience with distributed data processing technology such as Hadoop or Spark as well as analytics-oriented databases such as Vertica, Snowflake, or Singlestore

+ Understanding of the digital advertising technology industry including concepts like real-time-bidding, advertising optimization concepts, and recent industry trends

+ Experience with SingleStore, Snowflake, or other specific technologies used in our stack

+ A desire to support the career development of members of your team through people leadership
