The newly formed Data Ecosystem Center is creating business-ready external data sets, which are considered products. We are positioning our Data Ecosystem Center so the business can easily shop & select for the reliable, certified, trusted products (external data sets) they need to drive improved decisions and business outcomes. We aspire to build the capability for self-service so our business partners can be served quickly and with high satisfaction. However, we anticipate the need to Solution Engineer the application of our products to specific business needs.

The Solution Engineering sub-team will work closely with cross-functional teams to create data products which exceed expectations and deliver maximum impact to the business. This group will be an integral connection point with data consumers across PepsiCo and technical teams to support product development, utilization, and enhancements throughout the lifecycle of data products including design, development, delivery, training, vendor management, system integration, usability, adoption and business value KPIs and measurement. This group will also develop frameworks and principles to guide the development, launch, application, and measurement of our data products via optimized processes, roles, and ways of working.

On the front-end, you will collect requirements and feedback to product managers/owners to prioritize the development, maintenance, and improvements for the acquired data products in our planned offerings. You will be responsible for generating inputs and insights to shape our Data Ecosystem platform architecture so associates are able to efficiently find and use data to inform decisions, fuel strategies, and unlock growth. You will surface unmet needs and opportunities for incremental value-add applications of our products. You will be the advocate for optimal user experience while considering technology features/constraints, privacy, security requirements, and other considerations throughout the data lifecycle.

Additionally, Solution Engineering will support data product launches and maximize impact to business use cases. You will ensure potential audiences across the enterprise are aware of and familiar with relevant products, including accessibility and training. You will empower adoption and utilization of data products for a wide variety of use cases, initiatives, and strategic objectives as experts in the newly created products. You will collect and share best practices across teams and tools. This consistent level of engagement pre and post-launch will position Solution Engineering as a key source of inspiration for updates to existing products and future Data Ecosystem priorities based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation of usage and impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Partner with business, internal/external stakeholders and leadership to understand current customer experiences, identifies areas of opportunity, create and manage the ADP vision and roadmap
  • Inform development of the ADP as the voice of the end user
  • Build relationships with key internal data influencers across functions to maintain an open dialog about data needs and opportunities to embed data into essential business processes and initiatives
  • Support user adoption and utilization of acquired data products and services, and champion and conduct data governance training to users as needed
  • Advocate on behalf of data product users in technical forums to prioritize product features that will increase adoption, usability, and utility
  • Inform roadmap for future evolution of ADP and other data products/platforms in partnership with the Platform Development sub-team
  • Establish and grow Solution Engineering group as a practice and sub-function within Data Ecosystem as a key enabler of organization and behavior transformation
  • Create frameworks for developing and implementing solutions to enable more efficient and impactful utilization of data
  • Implement frameworks, build team, and manage ongoing performance for Solution Engineers.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of relevant Solution Engineering, Product Management, IT Relationship Management, Insights/Analytics, Product Ownership, and related functions.
  • Experience developing solutions with immediate business application leveraging disparate data sources, technologies, and applications
  • Extensive experience as a user of data or with data/technical teams to inform product roadmaps, envision and define programs, write detailed functional specifications, and delivering projects with excellence
  • Experience with current best practices in digital and data platforms and products
  • Experience in architecting, building, and maintaining end-to-end, high-throughput data systems and their supporting services
  • Track record of building processes to develop and implement data/technology solutions to end-users, including impactful launches and post-launch support
  • Experience with data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques
  • Team management and mentorship

  • Strong background in data management, data relationships, data mining, reporting, and quantitative vs. qualitative analytics
  • World-class relationship building based on collaboration, creative problem solving, challenging status quo and limitations
  • Able to develop and articulate vision and strategies which will evolve how associates interact with data
  • Able to work across functions and disciplines to envision solutions that go beyond articulated requirements

  • Consultative approach to complex business challenges dependent on data
  • Knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing and Big Data
  • Exposure to Agile, Dev Ops and traditional SDLC methodologies
  • Exposure to distributed systems architecture
  • Product roadmap creation and implementation

  • Able to receive requirements/feedback, process information, and translate it into potential solutions on the fly
  • Expert communicator who can lead and manage relationships across organizational boundaries and vendor relationships
  • Able to seamlessly transition between visionary/strategic focus and hands-on data utilization
  • Experience with executive-level communications, tracking project interdependencies, communicating issues & risk, and managing relationships with business team executives at Director and VP level.
