Sodexo is seeking a professional Sous Chef at Rose Medical Center in Denver, CO. The Sous Chef will help lead a team of dedicated cooks and help develop their culinary skills.  We are looking for a candidate with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform under pressure. This is a great opportunity for an up and coming cook looking to hone their leadership skills, learn the responsibilities of being a supervisor, help lead a winning team and reach a new understanding of safety.  

The Sous Chef will oversee all food programs including catering at the account. This hourly sous chef position will work variable shifts depending on holidays and vacation coverage. The hourly target is between $21.00 to $28.00 DOE.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Interacts with Senior Management from the HCA client
  • Work closely with the on-site Dietitian to ensure patient nutrition and safety
  • cook daily and manage a staff of approximately 15 
  • oversee the daily retail operations, patient and retail food production ordering and receiving;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • develop menus and manage inventory;
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens;
  • knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred.
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Physical Safety standards
  • Proven track record of success managing Hospital Foodservice systems to ensure significant compliance with all governing agencies
  •  

The ideal candidate has:

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a healthcare environment or restaurant; and
  • strong management skills.

Position Summary

Leads food preparation at one station of a foodservice operation (i.e., salads, soups). May supervise less than two full time employees.
