Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. 

Texas NeuroRehab is currently accepting applications for Speech-Language Pathologist - PRN.  The responsibility of  a Speech Pathologist is to provide Speech/Language/Cognitive and Dysphagia services.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

  2. Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.

  3. Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.

  4. Provide individual and group therapy to patients.

  5. Provide Speech/Language/Cognitive and Dysphagia evaluations of patients.

  6. Provide Speech/Language/Cognitive and Dysphagia consultation and family education related to specific treatment goals and therapy techniques.

  7. Supervise Speech/Language Assistants as assigned.

  8. Supervise Speech/Language Graduate Students as assigned.

  9. Document all clinical services provided.

  10. Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.

  11. And other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of child, adolescent, and adult speech, language, cognitive, swallowing disorders, and treatment strategies associated with traumatic brain injury, neuropsychiatric and other neurological disorders.


EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Speech/Language/Pathology, and be ASHA Certified.


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued ID.


EXPERIENCE: Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year, and at least 5 years of experience with adults.


PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift 25 pounds with occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to communicate in writing and verbally. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Regular and required attendance.
