Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial, analytical, actuarial, statistical, programming, data management expertise for a wide variety of Group Life, Disability, Supplemental Health pricing and/or reserving projects
  • ""
  • Manage work that is hands-on, project-oriented, self-directed, less structured, and complex
  • ""
  • Design and build financial, statistical, and actuarial models
  • ""
  • Work independently and collaboratively with internal customers to deliver technical solutions that add business value and yield actionable recommendations
  • ""
  • Drive communications with all key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

""
    ""
  • Bachelors degree in actuarial science, economics, computer science, mathematics or similar quantitative discipline
  • ""
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with the ambition and goal of attaining the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
  • ""
  • 5+ years of progressively increasing actuarial experience including, but not limited to, pricing insurance risk; certifying and filing rates with insurance regulators; building, running, and interpreting models; and/or supporting risk-based provider contracting
  • ""
  • 3+ years of hands-on computational problem-solving experience including extracting data from large relational databases
  • ""
  • 3+ years of SQL or similar programming experience with demonstrated expertise in data manipulation, data visualization, statistical analysis, and financial model building
  • ""
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
