Summary:

This role is crucial for Amgen's success and it will be a key contributor in the Supply Chain area. The Sr Associate Supply Chain role, serves as technical expert to cGMP operations in one or more core distribution functions(s): receiving, sampling, inspection, storing, transferring or shipping materials per standard operating procedures or guidelines. Receives, stores, samples, inspects, deliver, transfer, reconcile, cycle count, or ship materials per cGMP procedures and regulations, within multiple systems and/or between multiple sites. Proficient use of inventory system(s) allowing staff member to resolve basic system issues within Amgen's ERP system. Proficient use of multiple quality, operations and logistical software applications including: read, write access Review and verify cGMP transactions. Provide meeting support to a number of cross-functional teams. Set project timelines and priorities based on project objectives and ongoing assignments. Build, analyze and present metrics.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead multi-departmental, cross-functional, multi-site projects of small to moderate size.
  • May lead work processes to ensure compliance and successful completion of metric targets
  • May review department's standard operation procedures, training materials, validation documents to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Follow safety guidelines, cGMPs and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • May participate in area investigations/ audits.
  • Maintain training proficiency
  • Troubleshoot, solve problems and connect with partners.
  • Initiate and/or implement changes in controlled documents.
  • May train others as vital.
  • Participate in audits, initiatives and projects that may be departmental or organizational in scope.
  • May represent the department/organization on various teams.
  • Contributes to work group/team by ensuring the quality of the tasks/services provided by self
  • Conduct periodic freight analysis in order to develop driven pricing strategies and determination of the most efficient logistic alternatives.
  • Coordinates third party relationships with logistics suppliers and other members of the supply chain.
  • Continually reviews existing Corporate Transportation policies and procedures and recommends opportunities to improve operations.
  • Shares responsibility with Corporate Planning, Distribution and Quality for developing and executing disaster recovery plans.
  • Has awareness of federal and state regulatory rulings affecting transportation, shipping costs and services.
  • Alerts supervisor to changes in lanes, classifications and rates.
  • Provide education, training, and documentation to individuals, departments and sites within Amgen to ensure familiarity with transportation programs and standard methodologies.
  • Reports, investigate temperature excursion and nonconformance related to To-The-Market transportation.
  • Serve as a Transportation and Logistics resource and regional representative for special projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in projects and achieve results in line with the goals and objectives of the Global Logistics Network and Regional Supply Chain.
  • Provide shipment support: Lead coordination of sample, named patient requests, commercial shipments to the region; provide shipping documentation guidelines to supply sites.
  • Supervise HUB and site performance (KPI): Track order performance and lead monthly business reviews; drive improvements with site; lead communication and relationship with external partners as well as internal partners
  • Support non-standard shift that maybe include overtime, extended hours and/or weekends, as per business needs.


Education/licenses:

Master's degree

or

Bachelor's degree & 2 years of Supply Chain experience in Manufacturing or GMP regulated industry.

  • Ability to implement to regulatory requirements, written procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Experiences with audits and regulatory agencies
  • Result oriented
  • Excellent mathematics skills
  • Skilled in the use of Excel and Word software
  • Experience in Smartsheet web app
