The Solutions Design team leads partnership due diligence efforts with prospective health system clients to assess the financial value and operational delivery risk of a partnership with Optum. Our goal is ultimately to convert sales prospects into revenue generating partnerships utilizing Optum’s solutions to make the health system work better for everyone.  We work closely with the initial sales prospecting process and services optimization and delivery to determine financial value opportunity and methods to create revenue and/or efficiencies for our clients.

 

The Senior Data Lead will be responsible for data analysis for assessments completed by Optum’s Solution Design team. Through their work, the Senior Data Lead will leverage big data to interpret client performance and develop revenue improvement estimates and financial models for potential clients.  In order to complete this effort, the Senior Data Lead should have an understanding of the healthcare performance analytics and commit to developing a level of proficiency and knowledge about Optum’s solutions. This role will also coordinate with cross-functional diligence teams within the following areas: sales, information technology, finance, revenue cycle operations, compliance, and human capital.   

 
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify Optum’s values of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation, and Performance across all activities
  • Conduct assessments evaluating health system performance spanning a wide breadth of functional areas. Examples include acute and ambulatory revenue cycle operations, population health, Information Technology, and finance.
  • Coordinate directly with client executives and internal Optum leaders to manage assessment and due diligence projects. This responsibility will require a strong client & project management skillset.
  • Support the client partnership by analyzing large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data and develop preliminary insights on operational opportunity.  
  • Understand and synthesize client/partner business metrics and diligence results into strategic cost savings and revenue improvement plans.
  • Confidently communicate data and findings to internal and external senior executives with clear supporting evidence.  Plan and deliver well-structured oral and written communications, highlighting strategic opportunities.
  • Manage the data collection process for client projects. Apply in-depth knowledge of a data request to coordinate intake and analysis of large amounts of information. This will entail coordination & analysis of client-supplied files on an on-going basis.
  • Perform benefit modeling and financial analyses that clearly demonstrate the value of Optum’s solutions.
  • Collaborate with counterparts to support work associated with multiple/simultaneous clients. Adaptability and ability to pivot based on new information and client needs.
