What You'll Do

You will accelerate Ciscos transformation to Software, Subscription, and as-a-Service business models. Ciscos journey to Software and Subscription has been successful thus far youll support these existing journeys while helping define the next horizon of as-a-Service offers. In partnership with the business groups and functional stakeholders, you will develop the licensing strategy to enable Ciscos transition to these new models that are more compelling for customers, partners, and shareholders. This includes:

  • Analyze practices across the industry, network with industry peers, research market trends, and host sessions with customers/partners to guide Ciscos licensing practices
  • Develop quantitative measures to track license simplification, conduct driver-analysis to understand impact on customer/partner satisfaction, and provide quarterly executive reports
  • Develop the licensing models that will support Ciscos transformation to new business models (e.g., software subscription, usage-based software, hardware subscription)
  • Champion cross-functional efforts across Cisco to improve our licensing, including technology (e.g., Smart Licensing, Smart Accounts), support processes, marketing efforts, customer/partner documentation, sales/channel enablement, etc.
  • Drive the standardization of approach across Ciscos business units, while partnering with the licensing Product Owners to implement product/system improvements
  • Determine how improved licensing models can support evolutions of Ciscos buying programs, including the Cisco Enterprise Agreement, Service Provider Network Agreement, and Managed Services Licensing Agreement
  • Be accountable for the overall customer and partners satisfaction of Cisco as it pertains to their licensing experience; conduct recurring executive leadership reviews
  • Drive strategic transformational initiatives for Cisco in other domains

While we are experts in business transformation, offer monetization, buying programs, and licensing technologies, we partner with every function within the company to make these efforts successful. In this role, you will work with functional leaders to develop compelling new business models for Ciscos products and services.

You are passionate about helping the company transform itself to more compelling business models. You achieve success through strong cross-functional relationships, engaging talent to jointly design and deliver what an individual team could not. You gain trust through listening and can drive others through influencing. You are a change agent, with a high degree of passion and positive attitude. Your experience includes:

  • Product Management including offer structure, packaging, positioning, pricing, route-to-market, channel programs, sales incentives, marketing, operationalization, etc.
  • Enterprise and Service Provider business models and buying programs (Consumer is not a primary market segment)
  • Cross-functional project leadership including coordination of Business Units, Services, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations
  • Understanding of licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscriptions, usage-based), entitlement and consumption tracking technologies, and industry practices
  • Familiarity with networking, data center, IoT, collaboration, and security technologies sold into Enterprise IT, Data Center, and Service Provider markets

This role provides a unique opportunity to learn how a company operates across all functions, along with significant executive exposure given the business transformations associated with our work. As a member of the Offer Acceleration and License Simplification leadership team, you may lead a variety of strategic initiatives not directly related to licensing strategy. This role provides an opportunity to take on broader challenges and responsibilities over time based on your performance and business impact.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA strongly preferred but not required with relevant work experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in leading effectively in a complex organizational environment
  • Product management and people management experience
