Sr. Director, Application Development - AI Enabled Digital Service

ADP is searching for a Sr. Director, Application Development - AI Enabled Digital Service in our Global Service Technology team within ADP Global Enterprise Technology Services organization. The senior leader will own the Strategy, Planning, Execution, Adoption/Utilization and Results for the ADP’s Virtual Assistant. The virtual assistant’s role is to support both ADP Clients and ADP Employees through a frictionless user experience that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and ADP internal knowledge bases and proprietary expertise.  A successful candidate will have prior experience leading a diverse technical team, a deep understanding of AI and ML technologies and concepts, and prior experience developing and deploying Virtual Assistance/Chatbots in a large enterprise serving millions of clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day executive oversight over platform development, integrations development, infrastructure and production operations, and triage/support
  • Lead vision, strategy, and the technology roadmap for the virtual assistant’s Technology Platform
  • Partner with Product Management, Business Partners, and other R&D organizations on backlog definition, prioritization, and refinement
  • Join a highly technical team developing leading edge service technologies, architectures, and solutions
  • Drive overall strategy and architecture design to deliver a highly scalable, reliable, and secure platforms
  • Drive software development and quality assurance best practices (Agile/TDD). Participate in design and code reviews
  • Drive agile development processes to improve the overall efficiency in the development process
  • Instill DevOps mindset and 'you build it, you run it' culture in a continuous deployment environment
  • Drive engagement of developers on the application by providing architecture oversight, documentation, tools, and support
  • Engage with partners and clients to address technical issues 
  • Present strategies, execution roadmaps and status updates to senior leadership

Core Technology Experience:

  • Concepts:  Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, NLU, Conversational Interfaces, Graph data structures
  • Platform Technologies:  IBM Watson, Amazon Lex, API.ai, Azure Bot Service - or equivalents
  • Development Expertise:  Java, Python, PHP, Ruby etc. 

 

Core Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience in technology, software development or engineering
  • Expert knowledge of User Experience (UX) in the context of Virtual Assistants/Chatbots and the role it plays in effectiveness and client satisfaction required
  • Experience deploying and optimizing AI/ML assisted channels (chatbot, advanced search, Knowledge Management) 
  • Proven experience with large and complex technology deployments
  • Experience interacting with “C Level” executives and stakeholders
  • Experience providing thought leadership to industry peers, vendors, and associations
  • Experience creating detailed, data driven rational for large and strategic technology decisions

 

Beneficial Experience:

  • Experience solutioning, implementing digital channels (chat, voice, SMS etc.) in an enterprise contact center environment
  • Experience speaking in public in large industry forums and events
  • Background and understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologies and solutions
