Are you looking for a meaningful new opportunity to test and growth your QUALITY skills? We have an immediate need for a SR MANAGER QUALITY CONTROL to join AML's Quality Control Organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to seek a variety of challenges and responsibilities in support to our manufacturing facility at Amgen Manufacturing Limited in Juncos, Puerto Rico.


The Senior Manager Quality Control role will own the Quality Control staff executing the sampling and inspection of Incoming Raw Materials and Components. This position will focus in supporting all AML Drug Substance and Drug Product Operations. Sr Manager QC needs to have the ability to work under pressure, adapt to changes in priorities, and have negotiations skills to influence staff and peers to ensure deliverable and results are timely met. Own the responsibilities of the function. Supervision of direct reports, development of staff, leading project teams, and supervising cGMP compliance of function.

  • Provides overall direction to their department.
  • Lead department budget based on approved department drivers.
  • Translate organizations strategy and mission into meaningful department goals.
  • Improve performance by introducing processes and procedures; partner with departments to inspire changes.
  • In depth knowledge of HR policies and procedures and enforcement.
  • Develop training curriculum for department.
  • Primary communication link between own department and site.
  • Deliver effective messages to department.


Doctorate degree and 2 years of Quality or manufacturing experience


Master's degree and 6 years of Quality or manufacturing experience


Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Quality or manufacturing experience

AND two years of managerial experience directly handling people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, and programs or advising the allocation of resources.

  • Sophisticated scientific analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to empower and/or supervise the activities of others.
  • Must be well organized, have multi-task project experience, and be able to communicate and work well with other departments.
  • Proven skills and proficiencies in the following areas:
  • Verbal communication
  • Written communication including technical writing skills, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Analytical problem solving
  • Project management
  • Ability to be flexible and lead change.
  • Digital literacy (Windows environment: Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheet).
  • Skills requiring the application of scientific theory.
  • Solid understanding of cGMP's.
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to interact with regulatory agency inspectors
