Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of IV prescription orders. Pharmacists monitor and verify all prescription orders upon creation and dispensing. Calibrate dosing pumps.- Pharmacists in this function may also act as the Pharmacist - in - Charge (PIC) which has additional duties to ensure Pharmacy is in compliance with federal and state regulations, professional standards and internal procedures. Working Schedule:This position is Sunday 2pm - 6pm (required) and Monday - Thursday (10am -7:30pm or until work is complete) and occasionally Friday 9:30am - 6pm . Hours will vary depending on workload. We are operational Sunday - Friday. Schedule is changed monthly depending on work needs and availability of employees with 2 days off a week. Flexibility is key. This position is 35 - 40 hours a week

  • Aseptically admix/compound IV Sterile products (ADD)

  • Receive, Stock, Pull Sterile IV products. (ADD)

  • Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions into the appropriate dosage form

  • Adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures
    ""Properly use all equipment in the lab that is necessary to make the compound in a sterile environment

  • Wash and sterilize dishes and equipment after use

  • Ensure the compounding lab and related equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Education / GED or higher
  • 6+ months of sterile compounding experience (IV Compounding, Hospital, Home infusion, Specialty pharmacy)
  • Currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with little assistance from the Pharmacist or other Pharmacy Technicians
  • Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations
  • Ability of wearing all protective wear as required by State Board of Pharmacy. This includes, but not limited to; mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles etc
  • Knowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding
  • Ability to pass Compounding Exam with a score of 75% and three high risk media fill tests upon completion of lab training
  • Ability for some traveling to attend continuing education seminars regarding compounding of medications. Less than 5%



Physical Requirements and Work Environment:


  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • Majority of time is spent in the IV room. Minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment. Exposure to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds (some chemicals are classified as toxic, hazardous, or chemotherapeutic agents and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals)
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit in front of computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to wear required compounding safety equipment for long periods of time when required
