Job Description

Sr. Routing Coverage Specialists are responsible for providing schedule coverage for all Routing Specialists for all PTO occurrences. The Sr. Routing Coverage Specialists needs to be highly proficient in routing all delivery methods (GEO, Bulk, Bay, & FSV), and also highly versed in all systems (Easitrax, Dispatch, DOC, RoadNet). While covering schedules the Sr. Routing Coverage Specialists accountabilities include flawless execution of the delivery routing process while ensuring that cost and productivity objectives are achieved. Sr. Routing Specialists use analytics to identify productivity opportunities and influence field partners to execute changes that improve delivery operations.

Sr. Routing Coverage Specialists communicate proactively, positively, and concisely with field partners at region, market, and location level while demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and adhering to our company values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Weekly / Daily coverage of Routing Specialists schedules
  • Dispatch daily routing using specialized routing software (Pepsi Dispatch, Road Net, Asset Management Tool, and Bay Mapping applications)
  • Communicate daily with locations to coordinate resources, drivers and trucks, and specific customer delivery needs and routing solution effectiveness
  • Solve daily routing solution by FLEX routing (fewest trucks and drivers) based on daily workload, tight geographical areas, proper sequencing, balanced workload, and customer/driver continuity
  • Ensure routing solution complies with DOT hour and weight regulations
  • Ensure routing solution achieves location productivity targets for hours, stops, and cases
  • Meet location and Routing Intelligence Center (RIC) productivity targets
  • Handle customer and Internal employee interactions in a professional manner
  • Serve as LPO for larger locations Go-to-Market projects
  • Responsible for regular score-carding, analytics, and field review
  • Period presentation on market and location opportunities

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong analytical, reporting and process improvement experience
  • Understanding of key productivity indicators and finance principles
  • Advanced understanding of telematics and GPS technology
  • Facilitation and training skills

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of dynamic routing experience within Routing Intelligence department
  • Demonstrated consistent execution of routing process
  • Bachelors degree or relevant logistics job experience
  • Advanced MS Office Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness and availability to adapt to a flexible workweek. Must be willing and available to work any schedule, including evening & weekend schedules with short notice
