The Account Systems Engineer is a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides high level technical support and guidance to customers. He/she collaborates with the Account Team to recommend and develop appropriate customer solution offerings. 

The successful candidate will act as Account SE for named account Federal which is a German wide customer with main focus in Berlin and Frankfurt. He/she will be driving the technical account strategy and provides high level technical support to customers in close alignment with the Client Executive and the Account team as well as in conjunction with the CX team in order to achieve the commercial goals. 



The Team:


The Pubic operation is searching for an Account SE to work as technical lead for federal customers. This role will report to the Senior SE Manager, leading the Business and Solution Architecture and Systems Engineering. The team covers key strategic customers in the German Public operation where new and most relevant public IT trends are developed and realized. The public-sector landscape is a very collaborative landscape where key customers are often influencers for their specific vertical segment. Experience in the Public sector and a firm understanding of the challenges running large projects and how we can help monetize and optimize the GTM of our top customers will be key.



Role and Responsibilities:


  • The Account SE provides an architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio and can leverage his/her technical specialization for specific opportunities
  • Proactively generate leads through customer meetings, seminars, and education Qualify Opportunities
  • He/she collaborate closely with key cross-functional teams across the Architecture Teams, Sales, Service and Engineering.
  • Participate in the creation of an overall (technical) account plan 
  • Qualify Opportunities
  • Analyze customer business problem and priorities in a technical context and be able to translate priorities into technical roadmaps.
  • Define solution options and articulate the benefits of a Cisco solution
  • Understand business economics and trends of the industries and vertical markets in which the customer conduct business and reflect how Cisco solutions can add financial and strategic value
  • Help plan for and move deals through the sales process by knowing how and when to engage the appropriate Cisco and partner tools and resources (such as CSE, SE, PSS, AS Engineers, etc.) 
  • Build relationships both within and outside of Cisco; establish credibility quickly through personal self-confidence



Who You'll Work With:

The Account SE acts in an increasingly consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert, or trusted technical advisor, in his/her field by the account team and customer. All SEs engage customers face-to-face or via collaborative tools and technology such as WebEx, Telepresence, etc. As part of a strategic team it will be necessary to work cross-functionally with various operations.



Desired Skills:


  • Advanced understanding of Cisco vision and technology
  • Cisco certification like CCNP, CCDP, CCIE are beneficial
  • Understand customer business drivers and how to map these to a customer network platform and to a Cisco solution
  • Business and Technical Acumen basic understanding about tools like: BMC / SWOT
  • Understand networking industry trends, including new products and solutions
  • Understand competitive product and solution landscape
  • Excellent technical consulting skills, including ability to define trade-offs, ask probing questions, and incorporate Cisco solutions into a broader technology environment
  • Strong customer interaction skills, open-minded, open communication.
  • Willingness to take over responsibilities and feel accountable for the results of her/his work
  • Strong team player: drive culture of collaboration for success
  • Fluent verbal and written German and English communication skills (C1 Level)
