What Youll Do

Youll be working with the BT account team responsible for the largest Service Provider account in the UK.

 

You will be responsible for driving the day to day relationship with customer and end-to-end architecture insertion, working closely with the Sales Account Team. This means close interlock with BT Infrastructure Account Team, The SP Overlay and Engineering teams.

We are looking for a highly motivated pre-sales Systems Engineer with a specific set of attributes:

 

       A forward thinker with a finger on the pulse of the Service Provider and Mass Scale Infrastructure markets

       Innovative and imaginative with a willingness to adopt new ideas, paradigms and solutions

       Driven but disciplined, willing to push your ideas while always respecting the team ethic. Focussed on delivering the best solution, not just on winning the argument

       Emotionally intelligent who actively enjoys working with the end customer

 

You have a proven track record working with customers, engineering and it would be great if youve worked with any Cisco BUs - hopefully with some Service Provider exposure. You have demonstrated technical leadership in one or more customer accounts with successful delivery of key projects/deployments.

This is an excellent career opportunity to evolve in an innovative, complex and challenging environment, as well as developing International skills due to the regular contacts with Cisco Business Units and the reach of a multinational Service Provider like BT.

Responsibilities will include:

       Develop into a recognised architect on SP solutions (including hardware and software).
Building strong relationships with the Cluster SEs, Sales teams and relevant Business Units
Develop software and Cloud skills. See Cisco DevNet certifications

       Handle labs, demos, CPOC (Customer Proof of Concept).

       Demonstrate ownership of complex technical projects

       Solve complex network/technical issues under pressure to move projects forward

       Work with one or more assigned Account Managers driving the day to day relationship with specific Customer Franchises within BT to identify and close revenue opportunities.

       Generate BOMs (Bill of Materials) for projects across the account as required.

Who You Are

A team player with a passion for learning and new ideas. A great communicator capable of taking cisco technology and strategies and translating them into compelling value propositions to the end customer. Able to work with customers and colleagues to capture, scope and define project requirements and convert them into cost-effective, best of breed solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

 

       Ideally you will have an Engineering level degree plus 2 to 4 years related experience.

       IP Routing and Switching Skills with a broad understanding of the Cisco portfolios, ideally with a focus on SP

  • Exposure to one or more of the following would be advantageous -Mobility, RON/X-Haul, Enterprise, Automation/Orchestration

       Software development experience:

o   Shell script, Python or Java

o   XML

o   Linux

o   Exposure to Cisco APIs, YANG models

       Some knowledge of virtualization/containerisation, automation/orchestration and associated Cisco platforms and tools

       Effective Presentation, Negotiation and Influence skills

       Past experience with presales, sales or post-sales services functions

       Knowledge of Cisco Licensing models would be an advantage
