As a Tax Consulting Advisor, you will be responsible for providing tax support to the Comprehensive Businesses groups including Customer Service and Implementation as well as additional BUs (Total Source, Majors, National, SBS), taxing authorities such as IRS, state jurisdictions, internal and external business partners and third party administrators in regards to clients and their Tax filing and depositing, tax account status, business changes, filing discrepancies, Missing IDs, Missing TPA, out-of-balances, late original filings, and client and employee level amendment issues.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:Responsibilities

What you can expect on a typical day:

Provide Your Expertise. You will provide tax services expertise to Tax Direct and Compliance Solution associates / departments as needed to address more complex client related issues.


Spearhead Cases. You will monitor tax and amendment cases to ensure commitments, deadlines and service requirements are met and that regulatory compliance risks are mitigated.


Analyze, Reconcile, and Review. You will review, interpret, and work error reports in proactive manner to research & address potential issues which may impact client's quarterly and annual tax filing.


Consult. You will serve as an embedded resource for Customer Service reps on client-level tax issues and employee amendments


Collaborate. You will work with adjacent departments to improve processes relevant to client and employee-level payroll tax: other ADP regions, Tax Direct, Customer Service, Implementation, Agency relations, TCoE, Tracers, Filer, Compliance Solutions/Amendments.


Provide Assistance. You will assist the Tax Services Manager with managing daily operations including quality assurance reporting and activities.


Learn and Grow. You will partner with Manager to identify and develop training and development plans to address knowledge and performance gaps


Mentor New Tax Consultant Specialists. You will mentor others on Tax and Amendment Team as to process, research, improved efficiency & effectiveness, and improved customer service.


Proactively Communicate. You will work Tax escalations in concert with Team, Tax and/or Amendment Manager, Client, Service, Implementation, Legal, TCoE, Compliance Solutions, other BUs, agencies, third party collectors, and any others involved. Research audit trails to determine root cause and tax penalty assignment and recommend assignment as appropriate.


TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:Required Qualifications


2 - 4 Years of Directly Related Experience


A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiencescould include:

  • Experience noted above OR

Military experience where skills including teamwork, adaptability, organization, and follow-through will help you build team and client relationships, identify solutions, and achieve success
