Hampton Academy is a State of NJ; Dept. of Education approved private day school for first through twelfth grade students with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioral and academic challenges. Our strong academic program, which is aligned with New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, is supported by the intensive therapeutic services students need to overcome obstacles to achievement. We are looking for a Full-time Teacher’s Aide’s 1:1 to work with students the Academy by organizing and supervising students in all settings. The Teacher's Aide 1:1 assists in taking care of physical needs of students, with individualized instruction and works with small groups of students under the supervision of the teacher to reinforce material introduced in class. Key Responsibilities include: • The Teacher's aide guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work assigned by the teacher, helps with arrival and dismissal of students, completes clerical duties as assigned by the teacher and assists students with various projects, crafts, and curriculum tasks. • The Teacher's Aide also helps very young students with their clothing, snack time routine, and toileting activities. • Helps with the supervision of children during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff; • Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate special education classroom practices; Position Requirements: • High School Diploma required; Associate, Bachelor’s degree and/or college level coursework in education related field preferred; • One to three years’ experience working with special needs children(preferably Emotionally Disturbed or Multiple Disabled); • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff; • Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate special education classroom practices; This opportunity provides the following: • A challenging and rewarding work environment • Growth and development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries • Highly competitive compensation UHS is a registered trademark of UHS of Delaware, Inc., the management company for Universal Health Services, Inc. and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. Job Requirements
