The Sleep Lab Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of testing in the Sleep Disorders Center relating to diagnosis of sleep problems. The Technician supports an organization culture for service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  1. Previous medical training and/or experience
  2. Current state Registered Respiratory Therapist license, nursing license, paramedic or EMT license preferred
  3. Previous experience in field for a minimum of 2-3 years or can be trained in the job

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to read, write, and converse English
  2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
  3. Ability to remain calm and composed under stress
  4. Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation
  5. Ability to function when exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or biological materials
  6. Bending, lifting (10-30 lbs. minimum), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing andpulling, prolonged standing and/or sitting
  7. Ability to discriminate color
  8. Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard/metric measurements)
  9. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
