What You'll Do

As a Technical Consulting Engineer for Customer Experience (CX) youll provide second/third level technical support on a worldwide basis for IOS-XR Operating systems and routers to Cisco customers, partners, account teams, and other TAC engineers via phone/email/fax consultation to independently troubleshoot & debug product problems.

Working with a highly skilled team on a cutting edge technology supporting IOS-XR Operating system and routers. This role will be located onsite at our RTP, NC campus, or Richardson, TX campus.

The Service Provider Infrastructure Technical Leadership team is part of CX Centers & supports SP Networking, SP Mobility, SP Cable, Optical, and Router/Switch Architecture, Data Center, and related technologies. Who You Are

Your crisis management skills and ability to handle critical customer issues/problems are second to none. You are a trusted resource in Service Provider Domain, Working on IOS-XR, NX-OS, IOS-XE and its underlying platforms (NCS5k, CRS, ASR9k, N3k, N9k) and technologies (Routing & Switching protocols, BGP, MPLS, and related capabilities). Knowledge of the SONIC OS is a plus.

  • Independently solve problems in broad, complex, and unique networks with mixed protocols in high end routing environments for our largest customers.
  • Support engineers from multiple teams as well as the field and aid them in problem resolution.
  • Handle complex and diverse problems where analysis requires imaginative and innovative troubleshooting.
  • Focal point for large account network problem resolution and provide technical leadership for Critical Accounts.
  • Provide systems/product training in written and presentation form, such as chalk talks, web pages, white papers, Tech Zone, and Cisco Support Community participation, Cisco Live, EBCs, etc.
  • 8+ years of technical experience in Data Center technologies
  • Knowledge of large scale Data Center Switch Fabric Architectures
  • Effectively utilize lab setups to debug broad and complex problems and submit complete bug reports while monitoring reports of other engineers for quality.
  • Provide input to Engineering and product organizations on future product development.
  • Lead the creation of intellectual capital through written documents and machine consumable scripts and signatures that enable faster issue identification and resolution
  • Build and maintain trust and relationships with customers and Cisco team members.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Cisco portfolio of offerings.
  • Run complex technical projects.
  • Create and execute on our top accounts strategic initiatives.
  • You have experience interacting with Development Engineers and Escalation teams supporting IOS-XR technologies.
  • Lead on high profile and time-critical customer problems where Cisco is at risk, such as CAP cases.
  • Proven success in working with developers to correct bugs in our products. Effective planning, prioritization, and organizing skills
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, and/or CCDE certification.
