The Territory Manager, Stop Loss is a Senior Level Sales position.   The Territory Manager will be responsible for building productive relationships and partnering with Insurance Producers (Brokers, Consultants, Wholesalers, and Third Party Administrators) to manage new business requests and renewal activity to achieve financial goals by building a profitable block of business. 

 

If you are located in New York/ New England, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage large geographic territory focused on the pillars of stop loss net growth, profitability and NPS
  • Create specific value proposition for each potential partnership resulting in a win/win/win for Optum, producer, and end clients
  • Develop and manage producer level business plan that focuses on new sales, renewals and loss ratio for that book of business
  • Build and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with internal customers at all organizational levels as well as key people outside the organization
  • Work collaboratively with internal sales teams to sell additional Optum products
  • Distribute and sell Optum's Stop Loss product/value proposition
  • Work closely with Underwriters on new and renewal stop loss opportunities to produce results that meet or exceed target profit levels
  • Identify and execute virtual selling strategies
  • Travel to assigned territory as required (50%+ travel required)
